SOURCE: From where do I access the lower oven element on a Amana ACF4215A

There should be two screws at the rear of the bottom panel inside the oven. Remove those and lift out that panel. The element is under there. If there is not enough wire to pull thru you may have to disconnect and reconnect the wires to the element from the back of the oven by removing the back panel. Hope this helps.

as far as the elementy working, if it glows red, its working. if the unit is preheating within 12-15 min, id say the elements are fine. as far as not maintaining temp, thats strange, if the elemnt turns on the control is sendinding power, and its shuttin off so its stopping power, sounds as if a relay is geting stuck on the control board, strange thngs happen when you short things out like that.

SOURCE: Amana inside oven light not working.

check the socket assembly.remember Before repairs or testing can begin you must disconnect the electricity at the fuse panel, at the circuit breaker panel, or by pulling the plug. Make sure the power is off before proceeding. ! check the switch Usually the switch will be either on the control panel or inset into the oven door opening. Now you need to gain access to the back of the switch in order to test it. Check your range's operating manual for access and mounting details. Most switches are push-in types, and you can carefully pry them out from their location with a thin-bladed screwdriver.

  1. Once you have gained access to the switch, label and disconnect the wires from the switch's terminals Set your VOM to ohmmeter function and set the range to R X 1. Touch a test lead to each of the two terminals on the switch.
  2. If the contacts of the switch do not make contact in either on or off positions, there will be no continuity in either position. If the switch is shorted, there will be continuity in both positions. In both cases, the switch is defective and must be replaced.
  3. Carefully replace the wires to the correct terminals of the new switch. Now install the new switch in its mounting position. hope this helps. pls appreciate by rating as fixyaa

No matter that the igniter glows you must measure the current... If the current is less than 3.2 or 3.6 you must change it (this current is for the igniters with rectangular white base). The current to open the valve is the same that passed through the igniter so if it doesn't reach the proper value it will never open (or sometimes open sometimes not).Mine is not opening and the current is 2.9 so I'm going to replace it tomorrow.

I have an Amana stove model ART4002W. The oven will not heat above 250 degrees and the broiler element will not turn on. I replaced the broiler element and the heat sensor. No change.

if you have it on broil and the element doesn't heat up and you changed the element then you either have a loose or broken wire or a bad clock assy. part number 74009213 and it's around 166 dollars

Amana range -the oven does not work, but rest of stove is working.

If the oven isn't working it is either the oven thermostat or the element. If the light and fan comes on to show it's heating but no heat appears, check the fan oven element on the back wall behind the panel. Usually 4 screws.

The oven and broiler won't heat

It sounds like an incomplete circuit so be careful.

Now all this is coming form my assumption that your using a setting that has both elements on at 1 time. like Baking.

First the most common thing:A COMMON TIE POINT;
A main wire burned off will cause both elements to not heat at the same time. It could be at the back going to one element then jump off and go to the second element. Or some times the manufacturer runs the wiring to the front on the controls, and a 3rd area that they could have a common tie point is right where the power comes into the oven. When this usually happens you'll have ok burners on top and no power completed to the bottom.
It could be a switch that's bad and not allowing power to carry on to your oven controls at the thermostat.

I self cleaned my Amana oven model acf7225aw. During the cleaning there was a huge pop and then all power was shut off to the oven (no power to clock or anything). We flipped the breaker- another pop. ...

Yes you probably have a burned out bake or broil element in the oven. They usually short out to the frame when they go and can have some interesting results. A direct short probably burned out half of the circuit breaker and you are now only getting 120 volts to the stove and its feeding back through the shorted element and giving some heat. Unplug the stove reset the circuit breaker and test the outlet for proper power. Outer holes will read 220 volts to each other and 110 volts to the middle hole. Replace the circuit breaker if needed. Usually when an element burns out it is visible. If not remove both bake and broil elements and take them to the parts store and ask them to see which one is bad. It is very unlikely they both burned out.

Oven will not heat past 220 degrees

Check your bake element, I had the exact same problem and found the bake element had burned in half. The broil element comes on during preheat and kicks off at around 220 degrees.
