Question about Amana AES3760BAW / AES3760BAQ / AES3760BAB Electric Kitchen Range
The right front heating element (largest one) in my Amana model # ARTC7121 just stopped working in the middle of cooking yesterday. Is there a fuse inside that may have blown? If not, Can I replace only 1 heating element? How do I get the top open?
There should be two screws at the rear of the bottom panel inside the oven. Remove those and lift out that panel. The element is under there. If there is not enough wire to pull thru you may have to disconnect and reconnect the wires to the element from the back of the oven by removing the back panel. Hope this helps.

as far as the elementy working, if it glows red, its working. if the unit is preheating within 12-15 min, id say the elements are fine. as far as not maintaining temp, thats strange, if the elemnt turns on the control is sendinding power, and its shuttin off so its stopping power, sounds as if a relay is geting stuck on the control board, strange thngs happen when you short things out like that.

check the socket assembly.remember Before repairs or testing can begin you must disconnect the electricity at the fuse panel, at the circuit breaker panel, or by pulling the plug. Make sure the power is off before proceeding. ! check the switch Usually the switch will be either on the control panel or inset into the oven door opening.
Now you need to gain access to the back of the switch in order to test it. Check your range's operating manual for access and mounting details. Most switches are push-in types, and you can carefully pry them out from their location with a thin-bladed screwdriver.

No matter that the igniter glows you must measure the current... If the current is less than 3.2 or 3.6 you must change it (this current is for the igniters with rectangular white base). The current to open the valve is the same that passed through the igniter so if it doesn't reach the proper value it will never open (or sometimes open sometimes not).Mine is not opening and the current is 2.9 so I'm going to replace it tomorrow.
