Have you tried plugging more than one usb device into the laptop to be sure that it is not the usb device that isnt working and not the laptop also what else dont work.
Have you tried controll panel and letting the laptop search for hardware devices and then it should let you select from a list everything that is installed on the laptop.
Have you had it from new and did any of these ports work before let me know more and i will help as much as i can ok

Hi again if you need the usb port replacing this you wont be able to do yourself as will need soldering and installing ob your laptop.

Have you tried letting the laptop search for extra hardware if you know how to do this you could even plug something into the usb port, then let the laptop search for the hardware itself after it has finished searching it should give you a list of all the hardware it has found check the list and see if the usb port is in the list or look for the device you have got plugged in.

If it picks up either of these you will need to let the laptop search for software for these devices once it has done this then their should be no problem.

If the laptop dont pick up either of these and you know that the usb device works then you will need to get the usb port replaced this can be done and shouldnt cost to much to get replaced.

Doing this yourself is difficult and also if you mess up the solder it can ruin that part of the board and you will never get it to work.

Is their two ports or just the one?

Let me know how you get on and ill try and assist you further ok

Usb wont work in 2.0

Go into device manager and look at your Universal Controller Bus (USB). Make sure you don't have any that has a Question Mark or Exclamation Point on them. It looks like somewhere you don't have the correct drivers. Are you sure your USB Ports are 2.0?

My Bd-hp22 Aquos blu-ray pllayer won't play a blu-ray and I think it needs an update but I don't know how... please help

Hello queerdust89,

Go to and look for a software update. Download into a usb and plug the usb into your blu-ray player. There should be a usb port right at the front. Press menu using your blu-ray remote and go to settings. From there go to software update and click enter. If you have a password on your blu-ray then enter it in, if you have not set one then press enter to start checking data in your USB device. Once it detects it, click yes to start the software update. (NOTE: make sure that there is ONLY the software update in the usb, and other folders or files otherwise it will not update). Once you press enter to start updating, give a few minutes for it to update by itself. Once its done, just turn off the blu-ray and take out the usb. Turn it back on and try putting a blu-ray movie in there. I hope this helps, give me your feedback if it does not. Good luck.

This is a PARALLEL scanner and most of the much newer computers don always have these.

You can buy adaptors to install in the computer or USB adaptors that convert it to USB but by the time you have paid for one of those you could buy a new one.

Do a GOOLE search for parralell to USB and that will give you an idea of the cost.

Also do a search for parralel cards to get an idea of that route.

Prices vary from country to country which is why I have not given you any figures

Gateway laptop will not boot up with or without a disk is there anyway to get my info and files off myself

If you have access to another computer you could purchase a hard drive (IDE/SATA) to USB adapter. Remove the hard drive from the Pacific Blue PC Notebook, plug the hard drive into the adapter and then the adapter into a USB port on the other computer. The other computer should find the USB hard drive automatically and give you access to your files.

This of course will only work if your laptop's hard drive is working. If your laptop won't boot because of a hard drive failure then I'm sorry you're out of luck.

Hope this helps ;)

Can you put a cd in this laptop

Need more details, as to laptop model. But if it is a Full sized NOTEBOOK, YES you probably can,,, if it is a "NETBOOK",, then no, you can't. If it is a netbook, you can get a USB powered EXTERNAL CD drive which will connect to a USB port and work that way.

Hope this helps, if you need more info, or have more info to give get back to me,, I CAN solve this problem!!

When i plug in the jumpdrive on any computer it says USB device not recognized, please help

Well, it’s a super simple solution! No need to edit the registry, uninstall drivers, or anything of that sort.
Yes that’s it! Note that this does not mean just turning off your computer because modern computers don’t really turn off when you press the power button as the motherboard still gets power.

First to explain, the motherboard is where all of hardware of the computer is connected to, including the USB ports. Sometimes the motherboard needs to be “rebooted” also because something can go wrong, i.e. all your USB ports suddenly stop working. The small microprocessor on the motherboard will reload the drivers and your USB ports should be back to recognizing all devices!
So first turn off your computer using Shut Down or pressing the power button and then UNPLUG it from the wall outlet. Let it sit for about a minute and then plug it back in.
Hope this helps someone fix that pesky “USB device not recognized” Windows error!

P.S. if it is a laptop, power up the laptop with just the batteries, not plugged in to fix this issue.

Give this a try and come back to tell us if it worked or not.
