Re: Panasonic HDTV 10801 BBE TAU

We own a Panosonic HD TV model 10801. It is hooked in to a cable box, and also to an hd sound system. To operate, we turn each component on individually through the cable box remote. Likewise, to turn off we do each individually.

Here of late, when you go to power one component, the button actually turns on something different. For example, if I power up the HD sound, and then try to turn on the TV, the buttons actually end up turnif off the sound system. Likewise, if I try to turn on the TV on the remote, it may actually turn off one of the other components.

When I reboot the cable box, things work fine for a few days. Then, we are right back to the problem. Is there possibly a software conflict through the cable box, so that when they send updates, it creates this problem? Any ideas?

I have 36" Panasonic CT-36SX12 TAU series. I had it repaired less than 3 years ago .and the same problem happened again As soon as turned the TV off it wouldn't turn back on .I was told this was the...

I would check the remote control by taking it out of the room first. If that is not the problem, it is likely to be a dry joint in the power supply that is "arcing" and causing this problem.
Re soldering the heavy components on the power supply board may fix it.

I have a panasonic tv, it is turning off by itself. Affter a few minutes it turns on by itself again, then turn off. What should I do?

Check the setup timer on the tv (sleep timer). Also check the remote control. There might also be a problem with the power supply. Plug it directly to the wall jack (check voltage). You should let this be checked up by a local electronics/video technician in your area.

There are some components in the vertical deflection circuit area that are failing. An experienced TV service man should be able to troubleshoot and repair this for you. It could take several hours of labour cost.

Power supply broken??

Without more information, it is difficult what to tell you. It is not likely to be something as simple as a fuse. A common failure is the horizontal output transistor if it is a CRT based set. There are other common faults as well. Try turning on the set and report here any symptoms you detect. For example, is there a standby light? Does it blink? Do you here a click when attempting to start the set?

Try to provide answers to the above and I should be able to give you a better idea.
