Try using a good digital editing program, I like almost any version that that Adobe offers, especially the Element versions....you can easily reduce any size picture to smaller compact jpegs to send through emails and the tool is right there on the tool bar. If the people you send photos too are just viewing them for pleasure on their monitor, then they can do this with a jpeg file in the 400k to 600k range, once you start sending attachments of 1 meg or larger you really slow down systems on both ends, especially with dial up connections. Element versions and many other versions, including Olympus Master, Kodak, all provide you with the details of the size of your jpeg after you convert and compress it. Or follow the other advice if you need to send the original size and compress it another fashion like the zip format.

Your email might handle processing files as an attachment very well, but does the person receiving the attachment have difficulties? Do you use a JAVA based html email? You can compress your files to a smaller jpeg size then copy and paste the image directly into the text box with systems like yahoo web mail? Most people should be able to open the email and view the picture sent right their with your email. Or you can use a free provider that has photo sharing capabilities that link select people to your photos...for more information try a site like CNET or Yahoo... you can get precise instructions from either...it all depends on how you want to do it and what you you want to send....

Cant mail a pic from desktop by right clicking and selecting send mail as i get an error that it cant send

Most email providers will limit the size of the email to 10mb. Some go as large as 30mb.
If you right click the image and select properties what is the file size (remember 1mb is 1024kb)?
If the file size is fairly large try compressing the software using software like winzip or winrar. To see if it can shrink the file enough to be sent via email.
Another thing to note is some email providers also do not allow certain file formats to be mailed as well. Most will allow you to mail a compressed file format (*.zip, *.tar.gz, *.rar).

Need to scan multiple documents as a pdf and email file but when i scan file the fileis to big to email

Have you tried compressing the file into a zip format. If you are using Windows this can be done using right click or download zip genuis and use that. Once compressed the file should be small enough to email.

It takes forever to send a e-mail. hit send and it never goes and i have to re-do it

You need to check how big is the file your sending some email service will only allow you to send up to 25MB. If you have an email to send greater than 25MB compress it. The other reason is you internet service provider and you firewall/computer security system

Compressing the file

1. Download HJ Splitter. It is used to split and join LARGE files. But the end receipient too should have it to join the files back.
2. Split the files>compress individual files>mail them.

Better use some online storage services like http://rapidshare.com/ to upload big files and then send only link to the file over email or open email account at Gmail (http://mail.google.com); they will allow you sending and receiving big attachments

Cant attach file (avi.) to email

The fiel is most likely too big. Try compressing the file  before attaching, or use a large file send service (there are many free ones available). Regards -- Joe

Hi..I've downloaded pictures and videos from my digital camera. I am able to send the pictures but not the vidoes.....can you help? Thank you, Rachel

I'm suspecting your internet service provider can't handle the large files (maybe the connection is too slow, or your email account has a file size limitation). Try to create a SMALL video file with your camera...literally no more than 1 or 2 seconds, so that it will have SMALL size. If possible, use a smaller/lower resolution video setting to help keep the file size down. Then upload the small file to your email. Check the file size to see the size as compared to the other videos, and your regular photos. If you are able to send it, and the size is similar to your photos, then it means that the other videos are just too big. (how big are those original video files you were having touble with?).

I got your e-mail address.
I'm trying to send you the guide but the PDF file is big, so i'll have to use winzip to compress the file and make a bit smaller just to send it to you.
Once you get it, you will need to use winzip to open the file and to read it, you should use adobe acrobat reader 6.0
