Question about Mitsubishi WD-52725 52". Rear Projection HDTV
While watching any input, a clear or purple static appears (4"w x 20"h) on
left side of screen lasting 3 sec.Mostly on darker or solid backgrounds, tv is 2 months out of 3 year ext. warranty
This is definately a convergance problem you can get someone out to adjust these it is difficult to do yourself and if you got it wrong you might not be able to undo what you did.
But the chances are you will need the convergence ic replacing this will solve your problem and believe me this is a very common fault on the types of tv most the fault i come across with these tv is the ic need replacing unless you are confident with soldering and understand the amount of electric inside a telly i wouldnt advise you do this yourself as the electric inside one of these can and will kill call someone out tell them you need the convergence ic replacing this will solve your problem and also get them to check any resistors as one or a couple of these going can cause the ic to go hope this is some help to you but it is not something you can do unless you know what you are doing let me know what you want to do.
If you are skilled in electrical repair you will need to be able to understand a spec sheet and follow circuit diagrammes and you will also need relevent testing equipment
