Did you run the driver CD for the Netgear N600 ? That is the first place I would look. Or it is possible that your Netgear N600 is not working properly. There are some very inexpensive small USB dongles that do work very well, I would try that as well. They run in the less than $10.00 range at places like Ebay or Amazon.
Try recycling the wireless router by unplugging the power to it and wait 20 seconds then plug the router back in. Sometimes that is all it takes.
After recycling the router if the adapter still does not show any wireless networks make sure you don't have the wireless radio turned off in the software that runs the adapter.
If all fails, try the adapter in another usb port if it is a usb adapter. You could reinstall the adapter's software and driver.
Oh my goodness, who uses a modem? Please don't tell me you get on the internet using a phone line and modem.
Ohh Internet Modem as his first sentence says. I'm thinking that means he has a high speed modem from a internet service provider. Ok, I would suggest that you remove the power cord, remove the battery, turn the laptop over and find the cover that houses the wireless modem and remove the antennas (black and white cables) from the wireless card, then remove the wireless card from the slot. Now press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then put everything back together and reboot.

When you connected your Diamond to your PC, what did it get recognized as? What does it show up as in your PC's Device Manager? On
your device, do you have Internet Sharing or Wireless Modem? If it is
Wireless Modem, after you connect your device to your PC, you Start
Wireless Modem and that should install the Modem Drivers. If you have Internet Sharing, what is the message you get on the device after tap connect (Check USB, Disconnected, etc.)? Try updating active sync software to the latest, at least 4.5 I'd think. Not sure if there's a newer version out. Also, Connect your phone to
your pc by using the USB cable provided with your phone. On your phone
you should go to Window Icon at top left corner of screen, then go to
Programs on the drop down menu. From there choose Internet Sharing.
Once you tap Internet Sharing you will be prompted at the bottom left of
the screen to Connect. Tap Connect and then you will see your pc
recognize the connection on the bottom right of computer screen. It
will install the drivers and then from there you are good to go. Hope
this helps! Thank you for contacting FixYa

Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.
This happen regularly on the older Toughbooks. Find an XP or Win2000 modem driver for the 27 or 72 at Panasonic's support site or driverguide.com and it should work just fine. It will allow the machine (XP) to recognize the modem and install the drivers.
Sir , I am having Huawei Wireless Modem.(TUSB3410).For Internet connection(dail up). I am having windows xp I cant install the modem with this vista. .Please solve my problem...
The phone connection would need to go through the blue tooth regardless of if you're using the phone connection or not. Check to see that you have bluetooth turned on and setup first. Then you'll need to use that to create the settings for using the phone as a modem. However, if you are using Windows on your Mac, you will need to make sure that your computer has the drivers installed to be able to both connect to the Internet and to connect to your phone. Once that is set up, you still need to go through the steps to use bluetooth to connect your phone to your computer, establishing a connection. There are quite a few articles about creating connections through your phone as a modem. http://mobileoffice.about.com/od/typesofaccessavailable/ht/bluetoothphone.htm http://www.theinternetpatrol.com/how-to-connect-your-computer-to-the-internet-using-your-cell-phone-as-a-wireless-internet-connection-or-tethered-modem
