Time to replace fuser?

I just bought a new fuser for our printer, but the online stats say the current fuser is only 65% used. We have been having some problems for awhile with it printing two copies fine and then starting to print like the fuser isn't working, like melted pictures and unfinished pictures, etc. I've looked on the fuser roller and it's not pretty, but I don't know if that can be cleaned or what. Usually it will print a couple of jobs fine and then start getting warm and not printing anything well at all.

So will a new fuser help? Is there something I'm not cleaning or maintaining that I should?

Re: Time to replace fuser?

Cant picture you fault, if fuser is over 12 months old then change it, it should have smooth orange rubber rollers, not serviceable item normally.

I'm not sure but I think you issue may be you are not setting the paper type correctly to suit media you are printing on ie card. If this is the case fuser runs at wrong temp an fails to apply enough heat to fuse/melt the toner into the paper and fuser rollers gunk up.

Hello, I replaced the fuser on my 734de and I still get fuser life warning

Did you replace the fuser with a new Lexmark fuser or a refurbished unit? The original Lexmark units have a chip in them that resets the counter when installed. However this only works the first time the fuser is installed. If you install a used fuser in a different printer it will not reset the counter.

System error cycle power. i already reinstall the bottle and the imaging unit. still same error. the unit is brand new

Change the temperature sensor from the fuser unit. There is no need to chang the fuser unit, it is expensive. I repair the sensor, it is a mechanical device who remains blocked.

My laserjet printer 4 is printing with black lines and I have shaken new printer and it is still printing with black line.

The fuser needs to be replaced. You can find them online, cost between 100-200 dollars, depending on if you buy new or refurbished. Replacement is simple, and you can find an online tutorial to assist if necessary. Take off the back cover, there are 2 screws holding the fuser in. Unscrew them, pull the fuser straight out, insert new one, add screws, put cover back on.

Process takes me about 2 minutes or less

If you are using the Postscript driver, switch to one of the PCL drivers. Either PCL or PCLXL.

If you are using PCL, switch to a different driver.

If all of the above fail, send me a Print to File so I can debug it.

Samsung CLX Printer printing unevenly

it is possible that this is a fuser prob, fuser works applying heat and pressure, if the roller, either the pressure roller or the fuser roller is defective this is most likely will happen too, you might want to  check the number of copies or prints made

Canon D760 Fuser

Hi Yes when cleaning the fuser you have to be extremly carefull! The fuser can be easily damaged by poor removal or using harsh chemicals. Usually if the fuser is in that bad of shape to where you are having to wipe and clean it your better off replacing the fuser. But again in order to remove fuser you will need certain tools . I hope this helps!!!

Dell 1600N Multifunction printer problem.

Fuser issues - if problem is reoccuring then you are looking at more expense, are all vents free of obstructions (folders leaning on machine sides/rear) is machine being flogged, is power supply consistent, maybe even fuser bought was faulty, many options, try doing a warranty claim on fuser or replace again, even better get another printer, welcome to our throw away world!
