It's a "Problem in 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch Circuit".

Don't know your mileage, but Honda has increased the warranty on certain automatic transmissions to 7 years or 100K miles. Yours may fall under that.
Time for a trip to the dealer, Honda will even do the
warranty fixes if you're above the required mileage (on a case-by-case
basis)...hope this helps. if so, please leave a positive feedback for me....many thanx

2001 honda odyessy has the following trouble codes: P1491, P0401,P1739. It has also been turning over longer before starting and has cut off while in park and idling. What does this mean?

P1491= "exhaust gas recirculation valve insufficient lift."
P0401= "exhaust gas recirculation insufficient flow"
P1739= ""3rd clutch pressure switch" (automatic transmission code)

the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve is vacuum operated. there may be a vacuum line that is broken or leaking or become detached from the EGR valve. any vacuum leak will cause the engine to run lean, leading to poor starting and idle cut-off due to lean fuel fuel mixture.

The EGR valve has a vacuum diaphragm inside it. this diaphragm could be leaking. the EGR valve will need to be replaced if this is the case.

The P1739 code shows that a problem with the 3rd clutch pressure switch or the wiring leading to the switch has been detected. It may be an intermittent fault. Reset the trouble codes and drive for a while and see if this code returns. If so, check the wiring and switch operation of the 3rd clutch switch.

Transaxle code came up on engine code

P1739 transaxle code, It's a "Problem in 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch Circuit" or sometimes know as Pressure Control Solenoid "C.
That code is for a 3rd clutch failure. It's an internal problem and there isn't a thing you can do to fix it without pulling the transmission. It's a vesy common code when the transmission starts to go.
Sorry for the bad news and good luck

2000 Accord LX, 4 Cyl. check engine light and error codes P1457, P1739

A very common late 90's code, P1457 is a failure in one of the evap system solenoid valves. There are 2 culprits, the Vent Control Valve & the 2 Way Bypass Valve. So, start working with those and see if you can get the 1457 code off of it.

I also looked around about the 1739 code as well which a transaxle error. However, I've found that there has been more than enough reported cases of problems of the such. Take a look at this link, and do a little reading.

I hope this helps you out.
