Try to copy a document. If the copy comes out black then the the
scanner is dirty. Clean the scanner glass (products on the market that
clean by sending through the scanner) and try to copy again. If after
cleaning the scanner, the copy is still black you have a scanner issue
and the laser/scanner unit will need replacement. Best of luck and
