Re: pleas help me un coud the cd player

If its a flip out or double din Screen then grab the remote and press the Audio button and then spell out KCAR if its a regular unit there is ways around it but I'd have to know the model number. So worst case let me have it or get the serial number off the sticker on it and call kenwood. They dont care where you bought it from. (Kind of defeats the purpose of it all) Just tell them that you bought the car with it in there and you changed the battery in it and the code thing popped up. Theyll tell you.

Search here for KENWOOD CODE and check his advice. I believe the code is 5227 and your remote is required to enter the code.

it sounds like you have the ;yellow wire connected to a switched power source. you need to connect it to a constant power source so it will retain it's memory.

Sony CDX-L480X

I had the same problem, CD not accepted by unit and pressing source button to select CD player causes unit to display reset.
Using reset button just causes unit to 'whir' for a while, problem is not solved. Firstly with unit switched off, and the ignition off I inserted a CD using some gentle force, I then inserted a second CD, forcing it in over the top of the first. Next I pressed and held the reset button for a short time before releasing it. Both CDs were ejected, when the unit had stopped I took the CDs out, replaced the front panel and turned on the ignition, The unit will now accept CDs and eject them O.K.

(This did take two attempts to get right). Seems to reset the eject status of the CD player.

According to the wiring diagram, it is for an Audio Interrupt.

Which means, if you have a car kit, bluetooth, or wired, you can connect this wire to it so the Head Unit will MUTE or Attenuate.

If you dont have a car kit, you dont need to connect it to anything.

Best of Luck.
