The Envision H170L Monitor VGA cable.

the Envision H170L Monitor uses an interface 1.0x VGA - 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15). The same VGA cable wildly use in different computer brands..I was wondering why you have not found a replace for that cable. It can be purchase from any computer store.

If you are planning on cutting the wires and solder it together that would be easy if you have the diagrams of the pin numbering for male VGA connector and the female VGA connector. Check first this diagrams and follow strictly the coding of the wire so that it would be successful when connecting it together.

It is also better if after you solder the wire, you will use an shrinkable tube on the connection. Cover the whole sections of interconnected wires with shrinkable tube before you use the vga cable.

Our computer has had a problem which started with the screen turning into power save mode. Computer has been away and we are told it works perfectly now but when we plug in the screen starts up with LG but...

Have you tried another monitor on the computer to see if the computer is working? When you turn the computer on, do you hear the sounds of normal startup (usually a beep from the computer, then hard drive activity with blinking lights on the front panel, and finally the Windows startup sound through your speakers)? If you do, the monitor may have internal problems, there might be a broken wire in the cable from the monitor to the computer, or a bent pin in the plug at the end of the cable. If the monitor turns out to be the problem, just replace it. It's tough to find anyone to do monitor repairs, and the low cost of LCD monitors today makes it uneconomical to repair them anyway.

But if your computer is still having problems starting up, the monitor will come on, show you that LG logo and then blank out. It's not actually turning off. This isn't happening before anything starts; it's because nothing is starting. The computer's not booting up and there's nothing for the monitor to display. If the computer still at fault, contact whoever it went to for repair. Find out what they did and let them know it's still not right.

ope this helps you straighten things out. Thanks for using Fixya!

The cable has been cut off of my acer monitor (v771-m) I took the back off the monitor and want to fit another cable from a different make, can someone tell me which colour wires go to which pin on the...

Have you already removed the wire from the back of the monitor or have you already replaced the wire and now want to reconnect the 15 pin D-type plug?

If its just the D-type you want to reconnect then have a look here:

Its not the easiest diagram to follow but all you need to remember is that some wires are used and some are not.

If you dont have a particular colour of wire then it probably isnt used.

I hope that helps...
