Short in the motor - It may be salvagable but not likely. Try a local electric motor repair shop but call first for labor charges. Some don't work on 'small' single phase motors. If it is not the winding that is bad expect to pay about $100 to fix it, assuming it can be fixed. If not, a new one is probably $150 or more depending on horsepower.

Breaker keeps tripping when water pressure switch kicks in

I don't know what the pressure switch operates, but I suspect when the pressure switch is actuated, it turns on a pump or a similar load. The breaker is reacting to the load after the pressure switch - not the the pressure switch itself. The switch doesn't make use of electricity - rather it stops the the flow of it, or sends it to something that makes either heat, light or magnetism (as in a motor).

Look at the load that is supposed to start or shut off when the pressure switch "kicks in" There is likely a problem with it - anything from a jammed pump, shorted winding in the motor, water in the motor, crushed / shorted wire, etc.

Pool motor kicking the breaker only after a few minutes .

If the pool pump is running and then 10 minutes into the cycle it trips the breaker, then it is overloading the circuit. The pump is laboring, workingf too hard . The filter shoiuld be cleaned. maybe there is a blockage in the return line to the pool. the other thing could be the wire size to the pump, but you said that it was running last summer . so that should be OK

Heat pump kicks breaker outside in main breaker panel

the start capacitor is bad. Motors develop what is known as lock rotor amperage. requires alot of torque to turn the motor until it reaches iits rated or run load amperage. the motor is not able to overcome the lock rotor amps which is usually 5x the rated amperage and always more amps than the breaker. this is usually not a problem because the start capacitor helps overcome the LRA so quickly that it doesnt trip the breaker. If the capacitor is round and bad it will be bulged at the top, if it is oval shaped then the rupture disc on top will be blown letting all the dielectric fluid out which cools the capacitor

Bathtub pump totally dead, pump ran dry for 10 sec, is there circuit breakers on pump motors, switch or is it the motor shot. any way to test motor with removing it?

Normally pump motors are connected on a separate
circuit with its own circuit breaker. At your house there is always a electrical control panel housing several circuit breakers for lights, power outlets, range, aircon, motors, etc...Find a tripped off breaker and reset it. To reset the circuit breaker is to switch it to off position and back to on position. Better still you may reset all the circuit breakers except the main
circuit breaker (biggest amp rating).
After resetting the circuit breakers, try to switch your
bathtub pump on, (to test it, if it is still okey). Other-
wise, your motor is damaged and you got to have the
motor rewinded, to be operational.
