4.5hp Brigss & Stratton engine.Bolens mower Changed the oil, spark plug and cleaned and dried the filter...squeezed out excess oil. Now it is getting too much fuel...running rough. Is there a carb adjustment? This mower does not have a manual throttle control.
thanks.
Ok, check the air filter, it could be clogged. A clogged air filter won't allow a proper air-gas mixture. Then check the carb. make sure that it is clean, or if anything doesn't look right. You might have to get another carb. After that check the intake it could be clogged but this time a clogged intake means that there isn't enough fuel getting to the combustion chamer.

Normaly I can mow my whole lawn and then some on a tank of fuel....now I can't finish it without refueling. It sputters as it is running...like it will quit at any moment...but it doesn't til it runs out of fuel.
Thanks, I will start with the air filter....think it is the original...can only take so much cleaning.
Usually with Briggs they have very basic carbs. and there is usually no adjustment, how do you know it is getting to much fuel, and how exactly is it running rough?
