Question about Beach Tek BeachTek DXA-FX, FX1 XLR Adapter for Sony HDR-FX1 HDV Camcorder

Open Question

Audio Not Clean

Hey Guys,
I am having a problem getting optimal sound using the DXA-FX for my Sony HDR-FX1.
I have followed the directions from the manual for the DXA-FX from BeachTek. On my camera I have the audio switch on MANUAL and set to "3". Internally, I have the mic set to EXTERNAL.
My 2 Sennhesirer EW 100's systems are set up at different frequencies and are connected with an XLR connection on the DXA-FX. I have the limiters turned on both units from the back of the DXA-FX1.
I do get audio from both and it is close to balanced but there appears to be a lot of extra "noise" and does not have the clean sound I get when I use just 1 of the Sennheiser units with the camera set to AUTO and LINE IN.
Is there a setting I am missing? Please help, I have a shoot this week and we need to interview 2 people at once which is why my client purchased this equipment.
Thanks,
Tim

Sony's HDR-FX1 is the first three-CCD HDV camcorder to hit the market. What's amazing is that with this camera, you can play and record both formats on a MiniDV tape!
With the Sony HDR-FX1, Sony developed a special compression engine. It encodes in MPEG2 at the same bit rate as DV. As a result, you can use the same miniDV tapes you're accustomed to buying to record at stunning high definition. Moreover, when in high definition mode, the camcorder records audio in MPEG1 Audio Layer II, providing excellent sound quality.

"Native HDV support in future releases of Final Cut will enable our customers to create high quality HD content with affordable HDV cameras, including Sony's much anticipated HDR-FX1 camcorder," said Rob Schoeben, Apple's Vice President of Applications Marketing.
Adobe has also stated that they will be releasing an HDV plug-in for their popular Premiere editing system later this year. "The Sony HDR-FX1 is a milestone product, bringing HD-quality video at resolutions of up to 1080i at a price that will encourage widespread adoption of HDV across the industry. In keeping with our commitment to lead the HD revolution, Adobe plans to release a HDV Plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro later this year," said Steve Saylor, Vice President, Digital Imaging and Video, Adobe Systems, Inc.
Avid, Canopus, Ulead and Pinnacle also announced support for HDV. Editing support has been a big issue for HDV in the past, with third party companies supplying solutions for Final Cut and Adobe Premiere.

I have a Sony HDR FX-1 and is showing this error E:61:10 Quote to repair nearly 500 British pounds Any ideas?

E:61:10 is a lens error. Unfortunately, this needs to be repaired by an experienced technician. The only thing that you can try to do yourself is try bumping the camcorder with the palm of your hand near the lens. Try it on the top, sides, and bottom of lens. Sometimes this will work temporarily. If the camcorder was hit or jostled very hard, something in the lens may have moved. The other possibility is that the lens is not making good connection to the main pcb. If the bumping works, I would think it is a connection issue.

Hope this helps.

Problems recording from soundesk

Hi,

The signal from a sounddesk is a line signal. On the bottom of your Bechtek are 3 dip switches. You have to set switch 1 and 3 to line level. That should work.
