Screen load shifts, text deleted

Sometimes while I am typing, text is suddently highlighted and then deleted. At other times, the screenload suddenly shifts and I can't see what I was typing -- it's at the top of the page and my screen shows a lower view with no text and I have to scroll back up. Sometimes, text is suddenly highlighted and the moved. Is this happening because my wrists are touching the touchpad?

Re: screen load shifts, text deleted

Sound like it, some touch pad drivers have a setting to turn it off while your typing, look through its settings and see what you can find.

How do you reposition text in a document screen

Highlight the text with the mouse by clicking the left mouse button and dragging. When you've highlighted what you want to move then hit the <ctrl> and "C" keys at the same time. Move the pointer to where you want the text to go and click the on spot. Then hit the <ctrl> and "V" keys at the same time. Voila... it's moved. ..Now just highlight the original text again and delete it.

How to unlock hdd/ssd password on toshiba satellite l655-s5153

Step 1Turn on your laptop. Press the "F2" key when the first loading screen appears. This will load the BIOS. You'll only have a second or two to press this key before Windows begins to boot. If you're not fast enough and the Windows screen comes up, simply restart and try again.
Step 2Use the right-arrow key to highlight the "Security" tab. This is the third tab from the right.
Step 3Press the down-arrow to enter the Security Settings menu. Scroll down to "User Password," listed beneath the "HDD/SSD Password Select." This will open a pop-up window with three text fields.
Step 4Type your current password into the "Current Password" field. Press "Enter." Type your new password into the "New Password" field and press "Enter." Type the same password again into the "Confirm New Password" field and press "Enter." The "Password" window will close.
Step 5Press the "F10" key to save your new settings and exit the BIOS. Your laptop will now boot normally.
Tips & WarningsHDD password can be changed as many times as necessary. However, once you enable password protection, you can never delete it.

How do i delete in wordpad?

Highlight the text you want to delete by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the mouse pointer over the text, then let go of the left mouse button.

Now you can just push the DELETE button or the BACKSPACE button on your keyboard.

Or you can use your mouse to place the mouse pointer on that section of highlighted text and then click the RIGHT mouse button once. Then select CUT from the drop down menu options. This will delete that section of text.

Good luck.

Startup fails to complete properly

When on the screen, and you have no icons hold control(ctrl) down and shift key and press escape(esc) your windows task manager should appear, goto the applications tab, at the bottom goto the tab New Task and left click, another window should appear with a text bar, type in the text bar explorer.exe and click ok, all the icons and your normal screen should reapear.

If your screen goes back to normal goto the start bar and goto run or search and type "regedit".
When the regedit window appears left click the " + " sign next to Hkey_local_mechine the the plus sign on software, scroll down to Microsoft folder and click the plus sign, scroll down to Windows nt folder and click the plus sign, the plus sign on Current version folder, then scroll down to winlogon folder and left click on the folder icon, on the right hand side of the screen look for "shell" double click on the icon and delete everything in the text bar and type explorer.exe and click ok and exit out of the window, restart the pc and everything should be back to normal.

pls post back and tell me what happens.cheers.

Windows vista activat again

This is helpful to you :

After you get the blank screen, ( After logging in. )

Press either Ctrl+Shift+Esc, or Ctrl+Alt+Delete.

Once you do that, the task manager should open up.

Once open, go to processes and look for Explorer.exe, You might not find it, Because sometimes apparently Vista forgets to start it.

If it is there, Right click it, and End Process.

Once done, ( Follow this step if it isnt there also. )

Go to the Applications tab, and click 'New Task...'

Type in Explorer.exe

This should force the GUI to load, and you shouldnt have any problems from there...

If your computer is new, I'd suggest getting the new Drivers also, as this may reduce the number of times you'll have to do this.

Problem is that the machine is not communicating with the CD-ROM. You can solve it by following these steps:

When the message appears, type: Shift+F10 to enter a command session.

Type: regedit.exe at the prompt.

Highlight the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE entry.

Go to the File menu and choose Load Hive.

Then, load %Windir%\System32\Config\System.sav
Give it a short name that you will remember, like "Test".

Then, find this key:

Do the same for ControlSet2 and any other numbered ControlSet keys you see.
