The unit leaks water on the floor - Aprilaire 700 Humidifier

I DON;T KNOW. MOST WATER IS LET IN WHEN NEEDED BY FLOAT VALVE AT BOTTOM OF BOTTLE OR LOWER.
PERHAPS IT NEEDS CLEANING. CONSIDER USING
STRAIGHT VINEGAR IN LEAKING SIDE THEN GOOD SIDE. IF NOT OK, YOU MAY HAVE TO TAKE UNIT APART TO INSPECT FOR CAUSE.

Does it get heated? If so, Heat makes filter dry and it starts to leak.

My idylis humidifer is lealng where you put the water canister, after about 15 minutes from starting unit

Is the drain line clear?

You may be over filling the unit. Take the refillable water tank out and with the power removed try to remove all the extra water where the tank goes. check for anything that looks cracked inside the unit the best you can. If the tank is seating properly it should not leak. If it is filled properly it should not leak.

It sounds like the water container wasn't placed on the unit correctly. Need more information as to what type unit you have, before making an informed decision.

in our school building, there are 2 air con. units per room.. we also have 3 floors which has approximately 30 rooms per floor.. what i observed is that they put a hose from where a basin-like is installed so that when water leaks, it goes to the basin just under it then through the hose down straight to a canal.. besides, a hose is extendable, there are no limits which is why it's good for buildings too.

This happened to me the second night of use.  Water all over the carpet and a dripping vent. I called customer service and they told me to remove the tank and filter, and run unit dry for an hour or so. Then restart it.  Worked fine after that.  I think we may have bumped it which is said to be the cause of most leaks.  Bummer is that after 5 night of use the grip on water tank slipped and the tank is in pieces.

Try to just fill the tank with water and set it upright on a table. If it leaks, the tank is cracked and needs to be replaced. Order one at kaz.com (search using model#). I have had this tank leak if the special cap is not sitting properly on the base. Make sure that the steam tower is properly locked in place before you place the water tank in the reservoir. The cap on the tank has a spring release that has to be correctly lined up so it only releases water when the water level in the reservoir drops.
