Re: button doesn't function

You may wish to replace the battery. I would check a new battery before sending in for repairs. A local camera shop I am sure would be happy to test it for you with one of their display batteries. Or repost your question with ways you have tried to check already.

How do i get the flashed turned on

First, check to make sure you're not in the macro mode. There's a slide switch on the end of the camera, near the SD card slot. Slide the switch away from the flower toward the mountain to take it out of macro mode. The flash won't fire in macro mode.

Then, if the flash still doesn't fire, take a look at the flash mode. Press the up-arrow button to bring up the flash menu. If it's currently set in the lightning-bolt-in-a-circle-with-a-slash-through-it symbol, you've got the flash turned off. Set it to the lightning-bolt-and-"A" for automatic flash or the lightning-bolt for forced flash.

If the flash still doesn't fire, then it's broken.

We have a lorex mod# mc6184s, the wires got sliced; and power supply was lost. our cam has red, yellow, green, and black wires. Which wires do what function, so I can rewire the cam?

Red - 7.5VDC
Black - Ground
Green - Video
Yellow - Audio

If you are using the original cable, reverse the Red and Black (doesn't make sense to me either...)

Tried to take pictures of lightening last night and couldn't. My lens kept going in and out and wouldn't focus so wouldn't allow me to shoot. Then I kept getting a BUSY across the screen. ...

For this kind of pictures, Don't try to focus on a lightning, it is to quick and mabe the overall brightness is not enough for your camera to focus.
So you can try to focus on something at infinity, if you manage then, put your focus on manual before re focusing, this way you will be able to take as many pictures as you want.

You can also try to focus manually directly.

And for you information the best way to take a lightning picture is to put your camera in bulb mode, use a remote control, open the shutter and close it as soon as you'v seen a lightning.

Hope this helps.
and good shooting !

LCD Screen doesn't work when it is clicked in (screen facing up) it only shows up on the eyehole. I tried hitting the Display button so many times yet it doesn't work.

A Camera Labs review of this camera, November 2008, states, "If the screen is folded back on itself, the DISP button only switches between the two EVF modes." (EVF = Electronic View Finder.) i.e. it is not affecting the screen at all.
On my Canon 60D with a similar folding screen the same appears to be the case but, if I fold back the screen while it is functioning it works OK.
Also, I noticed that pressing several other buttons on the back of the camera effects changes to the screen. Might be worth trying these on your camera.
