Solution for unable to Init.43 repair

To clear the message, you need to disconnect the Brother machine from the power outlet to check the machine. Follow the steps listed below: Check for foreign objects, such as a paper clip or scrap of paper, inside the machine. Disconnect the machine from the power outlet and open the scanner cover by pulling up on the lower right corner of the cover. Look inside the machine and remove any foreign objects. If you see jammed paper or another item inside this area, gently pull it out and then close the scanner cover securely. If the error continues to appear, move the print head and examine under the print head. NOTE : The images shown below are from the representative product and may differ from your Brother machine. 2-1.Disconnect the Brother machine from the poweroutlet. 2-2.Open the scanner cover by pulling up on the lower right corner of the cover. 2-3.Check the print head's position. In the example photo the print head is positioned at the left hand side of the platen area. 2-4.Gently move the print head to the center. Caution Be careful not to force the print head to move. If the print head is positioned at the far right hand side, you cannot move it. Please contact Brother Customer Service from "Contact Us". 2-5.Examine under the print head. If anything is found, remove it. Hint Use a flashlight if necessary to check thoroughly. 2-6.Close the cover and reconnect the machine to the power outlet. If the message continues to appear on the LCD, the machine will require repair as the print head has failed and will need to be replaced.

Cannon printer mp830

HI,

Well I will repeat this answer with a titch more detail.
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code. As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like. And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. A Pixma MP830 would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidently, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And its always a paper path error or purge unit.
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

Follow Canon's suggestion, take it or send the unit UPS to the Authorized Repair Facility.
You will NOT be able to resolve the problem yourself.

I had the same problem on a brand new MP830. I brought it home, tried to do the easy setup steps, and after I installed the ink cartridges, the print head moved to the right (home) and then I received an error saying that I needed to install the ink tanks (which I just did!). After a restart, I was stuck in the 6A00 wilderness. After reading this thread, I realized that the issue had to be the purge unit. On my MP830, the purge unit is a white plastic assembly (on the right side of the printer where the print head homes) that is spring loaded on rides on a rail. I moved it back and forth (actually forward and back) about 5 times, closed everything up, and after a restart, all is well. Note the the purge unit is NOT the print head!

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate me as fixya..

Check error

Try the following steps

1. Unplug power
2. USING THE FINGER HOLDS ON EITHER SIDE, lock scanner cover into open position
DO NOT TOUCH THE ENCODER STRIP (clear plastic strip in front of the white vinyl band)
3. Remove jammed paper/foreign objects (check under the print head; if the print head is in the middle, slide it to the either the left or the right side, & check for paper scraps underneath the print head)
[IF WHEN THE SCANNER COVER WAS OPENED, THE PRINT HEAD IS ON THE LEFT SIDE]
4. Move the print head to the middle
5. With the print head in the middle, remove any ripped paper/foreign objects from the left corner (SINCE THE RIPPED PAPER COULD BE VERY SMALL, USE A FLASHLIGHT TO INSPECT)
6. Close the scanner cover & plug the machine back into the power outlet
[PERSISTENCE OF THIS ERROR MESSAGE OR NO PAPER SCRAPS/FOREIGN OBJECTS FOUND MEANS THAT THE ENCODER STRIP WILL REQUIRE CLEANING]
[IF WHEN THE SCANNER COVER WAS OPENED, THE PRINT HEAD IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE]
7. Plug the power cord back into the power outlet...LCD will show "Cover is Open"
8. Press Stop/Exit for approximately 5 seconds until the print head moves to the middle
9. UNPLUG MACHINE FROM POWER OUTLET
10. USE A FLASHLIGHT & TWEEZERS TO INSPECT: Remove any debris from the right corner
11. USING THE FINGER HOLDS ON EITHER SIDE, close scanner cover & plug machine into power outlet
[PERSISTENCE OF THIS ERROR MESSAGE OR NO PAPER SCRAPS/FOREIGN OBJECTS FOUND MEANS THAT THE ENCODER STRIP WILL REQUIRE CLEANING]

TO CLEAN THE ENCODER STRIP... (clear plastic strip in front of the white vinyl band)
[Markings & debris can adhere on the surface of encoder strip FROM HAND CONTACT &/OR GREASE CONTACT INCURRED FROM REMOVAL OF JAMMED PAPER]
DO NOT USE FLAMMABLE SUBSTANCES NOR ANY TYPE OF SPRAY TO CLEAN INSIDE/OUTSIDE MACHINE
1. Unplug machine from power outlet
2. USING THE FINGER HOLDS ON EITHER SIDE, lock scanner cover into open position
3. Clean both sides of encoder WITH ONLY A DRY, LINT-FREE CLOTH
DO NOT FORCEFULLY PULL ON ENCODER STRIP
DO NOT TOUCH ENCODER STRIP WITH BARE HANDS
DO NOT FORCEFULLY SCRUB ENCODER STRIP (THAT COULD SCRATCH ITS SURFACE)
4. Clean encoder strip from right to left--stopping just before the left corner
5. Clean encoder strip from left to right--stopping just before the right corner
6. Repeat steps 5 & 6 two or three times to clean thoroughly
7. After cleaning encoder strip, USE FINGER HOLDS TO close scanner cover
8. Plug machine back into power outlet.

Brother 130c print unable 50

Solution #1 is absolutely spot-on from adnanbhatti, copy the link into your browser to be able to see the photos of the printer and how to slide the print head:
http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us/en/faq/faq/000000/000500/000065/faq000565_013.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=dcp130c_all&Cat=11

When I slid the print head over as specified, I found a little crumpled paper fragment soaked with ink. Pulled it out.... I turned on the printer, it ran a cleaning cycle automatically, and started printing just fine!

Error message: Service error 5100 on my new Canon MP160 Printer

no prob try -- As a technician, I have worked on tons of printers. This particular error had stumped me for a while, but I finally found the cause. As others had pointed out before, it can have alot to do with some obstruction in the print path, the gears, or ink on the clear plastic encoder strip. You're on the right track - I found the the purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) was not lubricated well enough from factory. If you lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps) the mechanism can now slide more freely, and the unit can park the head properly without giving you the dreaded head homing error 5100 (or E-2-2 on the LCD display) Keep in mind that this repair will probably require you to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism. There are two screws behind the printer, and two in front for each corrosponding side panel (the front screws are behind the grey front panel of the printer - open the top cover to see the clips which hold the front cover on) Hope this helps some of you out.

I have a c8100 all in one printer/scanner/copier The machine wont scan as it comes up with a message saying that the TMA tray is not located properly. I have been useing it to scan photo prints and it...

Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you very much for your mail,I wont need the plan you offered, however I will tell you how I solved the problem.

I went into the HP solution centre,on the bottom right hand side of the menu list there is a spanner shown indicating settings.
I opened that item, pressed scan settings, there are various options available, these you can add of take away from the printer scan menu.
I added picture to mail & picture to file pressed OK,and they both appeared on the main printer menu.

The problem was solved, and the scanner worked correctly from that point.

Regards D.S.
