Re: outlook hangs

Do you have an Exchange server running on the same server or are you popping an ISP for mail? Are you logon locally or is the from Termainal services? Also do you have the whole MS Office 2003 suite installed or just Outlook 2003?

Outlook not receiving mail or sending

You need to know the POP3 (Incoming mail) & SMTP(outgoing mail) server names.Your service provider can tell you these.
When you are in Outlook
From the menu- go to
Email Accounts
Add a new Mail account
Server Type POP3 Type in the server name
Server Type SMTP Type in the server name
Your Name, Email Address given by your service provider
Log In User Name and Password
Save all these info. Close and restart the Outlook.

I am able to get the attment from a particular sender

Please explain your question further ...
"I am able to get the attment from a particular ... "
a particular what?

If you are unable to receive a particular attachment from an individual, it depends on the attachment. Microsoft Outlook Express strips attachments of Microsoft Files. That is if someone sends you a MS Excel spread sheet or Word document, Outlook Express will strip the attachment for security. There's no way around this. The fix is have the person send you their file in .ZIP format. Then you can unzip it locally.

My new MSN 7mb ISP won't let me receive email on my Outlook 2003

Request you just consult your server team or Internet connection provider, because only these two team handle the case of static IP related issue.
