Error when trying to install a new application

I recently purchased an encarta to be installed in my pc.As ran the wizard it will download the file, but when the status bar is almost done, I have an error, InCd error.Im not sure why i have that kind of error.it is possible though that it is a defective Cd or maybe my DVD ROM is not working since i have been encountering problem when watching movies using my Dvd ROM..help. i realy need some advise...
