More than likely, your power port has gone bad, which is a VERY sommon problem with laptops. Even if the battery is removed entirely, the laptop should run on outlet power. In this case, you can double-check your power adapter (if it has an LED, make sure it comes on) and yo ucan always purchase another power cord to test it and return it if it's not the problem. Otherwise, since the power port is attached to the motherboard, it is not a particularly cheap piece to replace, but may be worth the investment.
