I run Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron 1150, it does not have an integral burner, just a CD/DVD player. I purchased a Pika One Rip Case some four years ago and used it for burning audio Cds - fine.
Recently I have been trying to burn image CDs (Photos) and no matter whether I use CD-R or CD-RW Windows tells me that there is no CD in the drive or the CD is full or no longer useable. I have tried all the help info, used the web but can not find a solution to the problem. The problem is the same whether I use Windows Media or Nero. I am beginning to suspect the burner itself.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

-   Ditto.
The system appears to be burning to the DVD but after the operation is over the disk is unreadable.
In one case when the drive reads the disk it wrote, the Windows Explorer sees it as a CD drive rather than a DVD drive.
I notice tht this happened right after the 2nd time I used the Lightscribe feature to ry to writ a label on a propoer Lightscribe disk. Bu the first disk scribe wasn't all that hot, and on the second disk the drive hung up and just started banging around so eventually I had to restart the computer to get it back under control. So I am wondering whether the Lightscribe feature is actually not well engineered and dislocated the head somehow.-   seabrook
-   Hi. I have a plexwriter 40/12/40a I have exactly the same problem . Windows does tell me CD is full or no longer usable. My computer is suprides, a portuguese brand. Pentium 4, 2Ghz. Asus motherboard p4,533 1 Gigabyte RAM.
My CD used to work fine..,untill now. In it I just burned 50 CDS in all.
-   My CP 300 burned both cd's and dvd's when it was new. Now it won't burn cd's, just DVD's. I have tried different brands of CD's but it just keeps saying there is no disk or card. I extract that CD and put in a DVD and it works fine. bearwinch@yahoo.com
