Its a well know fuse problem, you wil lneed to open up your unit and change the fuse close to battery connactions , serach google for location of the fuse , if you are good with electronics its prestty easy but if you r not just take it to repair center Regards
Mostly this problem is related to a broken cpu. You cannot resolder this cpu.
Problem sometimes occurs when the unit is dropped to the ground. Only solution is send it to Nintendo. Don't waste your time in finding a solution, ther isn't any for this.
Your DS is either fully charged or the battery got damaged/wet. When you play the DS, is the light red or flash red? If it does, then the problem is with your battery. http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/repair/dslite_repair_home.jsp
Click on your country, then "System and Game Problems," then "Power and Battery Charging Problems."
Hope this helped.
i would suggest trying to find what the issue is, if you know anyone who has a different charger, try it on your daughter's ds. if it still doesn't work, it's a DS problem...if it's under warranty, go to whatever store you bought it at and have them fix or replace it. If you try the different charger and it DOES work, then the only problem is the charger...so then all you have to do is go buy a new charger...hope this helps.
My kids did the same thing. What I did to get it to work was to push back on the top and hold it turn it on. If it comes on then turns off after you let it go get 2 rubber bands and put the 1st. one on the top left down to the bottom right. The 2nd. one goes from the top right right to the bottom left. Then keep turning it on while moving the top to find the sweet spot.
for ur sons DS try to move it around to find a signal. for ur daughter's, trying doing the same first and if it doesnt work, buy a new charger if the new one doesnt work its the DS
