Just started I turn on my XP system that seems to be working fine but my LG flat screen that is about year and half old just goes into power safe mode and anything I do to the moitor or such does not fix it.. I notice a lot of the same HELP questions on line about LG.. hmm seems LG has issues!!! pass the word!

Well thats seems tricky does it not come on at all when you boot the computer. If the screen is working then it should work to display the Start up screen. If it does then keep pressing Delete until the BIOS comes up- then search the pages for power saving and slect to OFF

I had the same problem and fixed it by replacing the control board. It's a little nerve wracking, but required only simple hand tools. If you'd like to see detailed pictures of the repair check out my blog.

possible power supply issue know on LG and samsung models would require tech to open the power supply and look for defective Capacitors I have another solution on this issue for a samsung tv. the failing capacitors will show black on the caps and be swollen, they should be replaced with same or higher voltage ones. ensure this work is done by a competent engineer as electic shock is a danger with this task.
I hope this was useful.
