I have got a pinnacle pctv 110i internal card. I recently installed windows 7 and ever since i can't get the pmc to work.

When upgrading operating systems, the very first thing to do is check your hardware ... I do not have 7 but I have been around since Windows 2. Every version of Windows since 95 has said to check your hardware first. Later versions have made it easier ... to the point you can have your computer evaluated by Microsoft, (and others) the result being you get a report of hardware and software you may have to upgrade. I presume you have not done this.

Microsoft has a complete list of hardware and software that is Windows 7 compatible. I suggest the first thing you do now, before you go looking for new drivers, is review this listing. You will find it here: If your device is compatible, it will be on the list. If there is a new driver, you will get instructions on how to get it. If it is not listed, there is no readily available cure - you will have to upgrade your device. You can, of course, visit the site of the manufacturer of your device. In my experience, they will tell you the same thing as you will learn from the Compatability list. The benefit of visiting the manufacturer is they MAY offer you a deal on a upgraded product.

Good luck with your search. Thanks for your visit @ today.

I am not able to install protools in my Mac. My os is 10.4.11. I have downloaded the drivers needed for the OS but it gives me a pop box stating fatal OS.

Pro-Tools 8 and above requires an Intel-based Mac running OS 10.5.5 or later. The newest version you can use with Mac OS 10.4.x is ProTools 7.4, and the oldest version that will work with your hardware is 7.1. The complete system compatibility list is on the Avid site.

If you meet compatibility requirements, but get an installer error, you may have a corrupted download - try downloading again with no other network traffic from that computer during the download. If I read the download page correctly, most of the downloads are upgrade patches for previously installed versions rather than full installation packages. Attempting to run these without the older version in place will generate some sort of error. - how gracefully it is handled depends on the style, skill and diligence of the programmer.

You may also want to do a file system and permissions check on your computer with Disk Utility to make sure there are none of those problems causing hangups.

Cant install my pinnacl 110i on windows 7. Any one had success with that? It was working perfectly well with Vista. But I'm a ****** for pain! :D

Download updated VISTA drivers from here:
If the driver have an installer try to install from it.
If not success try to run the installer in compatibility mode (right click - properties - compatibility tab - run in compatibility mode with WINDOWS VISTA)
If all of those steps faill try to MANUALLY install the driver:
Go to device manager, select your device, right click on it and select update controller software - try to find it in Windows Update (online)
If not driver available online try again, but select the "find on my computer" option, and select a folder containing the drivers.
An excellent website to find drivers and solutions is:

I'm looking for a Vista 64 driver for Lorex QLR0444 and can't find one. The Lorex site says Vista 32 is the only compatible driver file.

This is the problem with surfing on the Edge of new OS's (operating systems)
Not as many hardware or software suppliers support the format off the bat because its a smaller market.

There is a Hardware compatibility list for Windows Vista that displays all known devices and software that are compatible. My suggestion is to use this before buying any hardware. As per software you basically have to wait :(

the other option is to partition your drive into 2 parts or more. on each part an OS needs to be installed.

this has two major advantages for you

1) Partitioning a HDD allows you to manipulate a down'd operating system through the alternate OS

2) On the partition, the operating system you install could be (and should be) compatible with the device that isnt compatible with Vista.

When you partition and install and second operating system it allows you to choose during boot which operating system you wish to load. when you need to run the device(s) or software(s) that arent compatible simply load the other one.

NOTE all data is accessible from both drives from each operating system, however trying to access the non compatible file from the non compatible OS with different OS installed on each drive may cause problems.

If you need help partitioning a drive let me know.

(Note Partitioning requires you to format your dirve. (loosing all data) so you would need to back up your data externally before attempting to do so :)
