SOURCE: how to replace starter

Keep in mind that the engine sits in there sideways, so the "back" of the engine, or flywheel is actually on the driver's side (the front is on the passenger side). The starter for any vehicle is at the flywheel. Raise the vehicle and crawl underneath from the front on the driver's side. Look for the oil filter. Slightly above and to your left (toward the driver's side wheel well) is the starter. It looks to me like you'll need to drain the motor oil and remove the oil filter to have room to remove the starter.

SOURCE: How to remove drive axles

the lower ball joint has to be undone.cotter pin and castle nut
the axle nut 36mm has to be undone.
.the control arm swung away from the end of the axle shaft.
using a pry bar,pry the knuckle away from the transmission,as just pulling out will not release it.
installation is done by lining up the shaft in the transmission and using wood or a brass drift to hit the shaft to seat it in place.
the lower conrol arm is a little tricky to move so that the hub fits over the axle .on average about 50 lbs force is needed to move it out of the way.
be sure to replace the cotter pin with the head fully inserted into the castle nut slot.
cheers and good luck.if you run into problems, get a haynes manual,it clearly explains and has pictures, and then you have a service book for your car.

SOURCE: 1992 mazda 626 = not getting fuel, will start while

fuel filter should be located under the hood on the driver side below the brake master cylinder, fuel pump is in the tank some vehicles you can lift the rear seat bottom and get to pump others you have to drop the tank and remove the pump.

Testimonial: "thx, there was fuel on both sides of the fuel filter.i lifted the seat , removed the access pannel & it's getting power.i don't know how to remove it."

Remove and replace starter

Replacing starter is not a difficult job.The vehicle needs to be lifted up on jack stands. The starter needs to be accessed from under the car. --------- You need to remove the air filter housing and intake, and the battery and tray if you want to make it easy on yourself. Remove those first, then remove the top starter bolt before you go under the car.

Accessing the top starter bolt, sometimes takes time. The top bolt comes from the transmission side on top.
