Video conferencing starts fine but after a minute or so my video freezes. When I turn it off and on again it starts back up but only for about 20 seconds until it freezes again.

If you are trying to use Yahoo conference facility put your webcam under Video For Windows control ( VFW )

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger9/webcam/mstacamtest.html

You have use IE to automatically download this program by just visiting the page - it will make a small registry change and for me, increased the frame/per/second f/p/s by 100%
To check your webcam is working in VFW when broadcasting in messenger, open 'Webcam' menu on the frame and select 'Statistics' VFW should be displayed on the bottom.
Also save resources by transmitting the small picture option and your contacts can zoom up to 200% using the 'Webcam' menu on the top of the picture frame.

How to improve the display resolution on Sony Vaio Tap 20

You can change your display setting from the control panel. If the video is only bad during the video conferencing, then your data transfer line is bad. I'm guessing that you are wired in through LAN during video conference so I would have IT run a test on the line for disruption. I don't recommend using a tablet for streaming video regardless of the connection status though. They don't have the processing specs a laptop will.

I have a brand new 320 GB PlayStation 3 Slim. Most everything works fine on it, however I'm having one consistent problem: I can only play games for 20 minutes or so before the video drops out and the...

If you've had this happen with two systems in a row, then it may not be the systems. First, try hooking up the PS3 directly to the TV, or another TV, and see if the issue still occurs. If it does, then something between the PS3 and the TV is causing your issue. Otherwise, call and get it replaced again, and hope the issue doesn't happen again.

My built-in webcam on Windows Vista is very slow.

Tipically, video streaming over the internet is slower then when you are not connected to the internet, i.e, quickplay. There are many factors to considers such as your internet speed and the other person's speed. It is normal to see lagging when you are having video conferencing with other people, it also freezes momentarily, but, video should go back to normal after awhile, then, freezes again. Also, it depends on the other person's internet speed.

Best luck

Packet Loss and Video Freezing Up

hi artit,

I had the same problem with heavy packet lost after 10 minutes connection between Singapore and USA. We are using ADSL line and Sony PCS-G50 for video conferencing. After a much trouble-shooting, we identified that the nature of the problem lies with the Internet Service Provider's back-end server. The server has difficulties handling large and constant data packets. This could be due to the reasons that ISP using routers with more hops and small pipes. We immediately changed the ISP to a more reputated one (with better infrastructure) and now, we have a much better quality video.
