I have a 50 inch Samsung plasma that is less then 2 years old. The picture is black but the sound is working. I am also hooked up to a DishNetwork DVR box.

my 50 inch samsung is 4 years old. a black line has appeared just off centre screen. the line is approx.an inch wide and runs from top to bottom. can it be repaired?

Image retention, Go to Menu and I believe pic settings go to the Burnin Scrolling feature..Will run white and black in full screen, run for an hour problem huold be solved..Happened to mine and the scrolling feature got rid of it.

Sounds like a stressed area gave way. Plasmas are high vacuum tubes with a lot of unsupported surface so your problem may not be uncommon.

my less than 2 yrs. old hardly used Samsung plasma is turning off automatically for no reason within 10m minutes of watching. What could be the problem??????????

This type of repair might not be a DIY since requires the use of a multimeter to check all the voltages from the power supply to all the circuitry in your plasma.
First step should be to measure all the voltages to the Y and X sustainer boards and since you do not have audio as well to check the 12 volts source as well.
If your plasma is less then a year old, still cover under manufacturers warranty.

call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.
