Fitting an external PCI graphics card ... issues.

Go into the device manager find the card you do not want to use then disable it do not delete it. Restart the computer making sure that your display is plugged in you want to use and it should show up. The way your doing it is allowing both monitors to or both drivers are active. John

I have a compaq presario pc. Motherboard is Asus P5LP-LE : Lithium UL8E. I have 3 Gig of RAM installed, a 400w PSU. I have just purchased a new graphics card - Radeon HD5570. My MoBo has 1 PCI-E x16 and 3...

Hi,

I think you have not connected power connector to your Radeon HD5570 .
This graphics card have 6pin power connector .
You need a 6pin power connector cable that comes with the graphics card box.

1.First connect your 6pin power connector to Graphics card.
2. Then connect other part of the cable to PSU.

Hope it will work for you.

Monitor shows VGA no input signal DVI no input signal then monito going to sleep

This sounds like a video card driver issue or the card it self. Make sure all cables are plugged in snug. Once done try to boot in to safe mode by restarting the computer and while it is starting keep on tapping key F8 and choose safe mode. If this works it is driver issue. If nothing happens it is the card it self. Might have to take it to a authorized repair shop. Hope this helps.

Turns on fan runs but no info to the monitor doesnt seem to boot

If the Monitor is displaying no infomation at all, your display signal from the PC to the monitor has failed.
1: Check the cable between the monitor and PC
2: If you are using onboard graphics then that display port is faulty.
3: If you are using a graphics card then remove it and try the onboard graphics.
4: Your monitor maybe faulty aswell so test it on another computer to be safe.

Its more likely to be option 2

Cant get my tv out to work

Boot in safe mode. (press F8 during boot, just before windows starts loading). If the desktop is then displayed, the graphics card is still functional. I am not very familiar wih NVidia graphics drivers but you may want to check (after a normal reboot) in the NVidia control panel. FIrst try cloning the image (both screens get same picture and resolution) If that doesn't work, try lowering the resolution. When you have found a resolution where the tv does display a picture, extend your dektop to it, set your monitor back to its default resolution, and keep the tv at the resolution you've found works.
If nothing out of all this helps, I think you should try reconnecting (and replacing, if all else fails) the cable connecting PC and tv. If that doesn't solve the problem either, well..then I'm out of ideas. The only option left is that some hardware is broken, and I can't fix that from here.
What you could try is to reinstall your graphics driver, although that is not liely to help, since you've only installed it recently.

I hope this solves your problem,
Yannick.

I was trying add another monitor and now there both blank, what can i do??

Good day sir, hi it seems you are having problems with your monitor. Let us first try to run the PC using only one monitor.
  1. PC is off, remove your 2nd graphics board by opening the side panels, locate the CMOS jumper, usually its near the battery, the setting is 1 2, place the jumper to 2 3 momentarily, after about 3 seconds, place it back to 1 2. If you cannot find the CMOS jumper, just remove the battery.
  2. connect the monitor to its built in graphics vga.
  3. turn on pc, as this point you should see the video on your monitor.
  4. PC is off, place back your battery if you have remove it. check to see if your 2nd graphics board is good, test it on other pc.
  5. if your 2nd graphics board is good. Install it on the motherboard. connect a second monitor.
  6. power on the PC, you should see on one monitor the boot up, and on the other monitor a message. just wait for windows to boot up. you will see the other monitor be an extension of your desktop.
  7. Make necessary settings for both monitor. Thats it.
If you still cant operate both display, do it several times. If still nothing happens review your work, get help from a friend who knows.

Problem with a video card

Try reseating the card. (With the computer unplugged, remove the card from it's slot and plug it back in again. Do this about 5 times in a row.) Thiswill clean the contacts. If it still fails, try a different monitor to see if that is the problem. If you have access, try a different card. This way you can determine the failing component.
