Question about Samsung HCL4715W 47" Rear Projection Television
Today we came home, turned on the TV and the colors were no longer aligned - it looked like red, green, and yellow had separated. I found on this site that I could do some adjustments hitting mute-1-8-3. However, I have no idea what I'm doing when I go into that function. And then I hit some button while in that function that caused the green to be blurred (for lack of a better word). How do I get the blur to go away? And is there anywhere that I can get some instruction on using the mute-1-8-3 function, or can someone give me some advice on fixing this problem? Thanks for any help.
Most likely the convergence ic'd failed. Do not adjust the convergence until the ic's have been replaced. Most likely the ic's are all that failed but all resistors around the ic's should be checked to make sure none of them burned open. It is reccommended to replace both ic's. This is not a difficult repair if you are compentent at component removal and soldering, but a qualified service professional is reccommended.
