Question about Sony PlayStation 2 Slimline Console
Open the case up and remove the CD cover. Be careful of the Reset Eject button cable when you remove the top cover. Best to Lift the cover from the rear slightly, pull it forward, then roll it over from left to right and lay it upside down with the ribbon cable still attached.
Remove the CD cover. Clean the lens of the laser with a q-tip lightly dampened with glass cleaner. use the dry end of the Q-tip to dry it. Get a Can of Air from Radio Shck and with little force, blow out from under the lens. Clean off the Worm gear that moves the laser back and forth. make sure no lint or hair is wrapped around the motor that spins the disc. Use the can of air to Blow out the Fan of dust. Test it out, good luck.
