Question about Panasonic NN-SN657S Microwave Oven

Panasonic Inverter 1200W - NN-SN676S

Touch pad will let me input the length of time to heat but when I press start it shows H98... any help? I've tried unplugging it but, that didn't help. The manual doesn't have a troubleshooting section either.

H98 appears as soon as I press start.  Unplugging didn't help

My sister has a similar problem. If she presses "reset", it comes on and stays on for 20 seconds then stops and displays, "H98". Also, it does not heat the food.

The Panasanoc Microwave flashed the H98 code. I tried unplugging the unit, but the service code came back. This oven is less than a year old. What are my options?

That code indicates a problem with the magnetron, inverter or control board.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer. You can find one here:

Microwave shows H98 problem. How can we solve it.

H97, H98 and H99 appears in display window a short time alter start key is pressed and no microwave oscillation.

NOTE:

DO NOT try to REPAIR this Inverter Power Supply (U) and also DO NOT RE-ADJUST PRESET VOLUME on the board. It is very dangerous to repair or adjust without sufficient test equipment because this circuit handles very high voltage and very large current. Off alignment or inverter board operation is dangerous. Operating a misaligned inverter circuit is dangerous due to the very high voltage and current that is produced by this board. Defective boards must be replaced with a new one.

My Panasonic NN-ST657W microwave has suddenly come up with an H97 code on display panel. Switches off after about 6 seconds before displaying this code. What has happened?

This oven is programmed with a self diagnostics failure code system which will help for troubleshooting, H97, H98 and H99 are the provided failure magnetron and inverter circuit problem areas. This section explains failure codes of H97, H98 and H99. H97, H98 and H99 appears in display window a short time after start key is pressed and there is no microwave oscillation.
There is not a lot the layman can do except maybe to try a new magnetron.
It is a job for an experienced Panasonic Microwave repair man.

Hi, I have a Panasonic Inverter microwave NN-Sn9688. It's less than a year old and when you press the START button H98 appears and it will not start. Everything else works, clock etc and reset/stop...

Hi Judith, I am Kelly

If this has a 1 year warranty it is time to make that call.

Otherwise see this link about H97 or H98 codes: http://www.applianceaid.com/micro_faultcodes.html#panasonic

There are a few things that can cause the problem, none of them cheap repairs. The Magnetron filament, Control board and Inverter are the top 3 other than a losse connection.

I tried running the Model number NN-SN9688 and it does not cross. See Panasonic link here: http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/PNAEndecaSearchCmd?N=779832097&Ne=&No=0&Nr=12001&Ns=&Ntk=SupportSearch&URL=vSupportSearch&cmTag=true&catalogId=11017&storeId=15001&cm_sp=SiteSearch-_-SupportSearch-_-SupportHome&Ntt=NN-SN9688&x=28&y=20

I did not go to Panasonic Global and try other countries. I just did a USA search.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.
