Our Brother 4100E fax machine keeps printing blank pages. We clearred the memory but it keeps printing.

It sounds as though the laser shutter has stuck down. Open the front door. in the top left corner of the door aperature there is a slot for the door open sensor which also acts as the shutter cover arm. If will have stuck. Just push something into the hole (you wont get a shock as there is nothing electical behind it) You will feel a click. Now close the door and see if it prints now.
Hopefully all should be well.

Brother 8360p has faxes in memory but will not print them. All the faxes ar going into the memory now. It has paper and toner, check by making a copy. the menu 2 5 4 fax command doesn't do anything,...

I have seen a few Brother faxes do this. I fixed them by turning off the power, holding down the clear/stop button and keep holding it down while you turn the power back on. Keep holding it for a few seconds then release. This will clear what ever is in the memory that is locking up the memory print. Note: you will lose any received faxes in memory by using this procedure.
This may help you restore your fax to a operation condition.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Hi - it says on the display printing online but nothing is happening

Turn off the power, hold down the red clear/stop button while turning the power back on. This should reset whatever has locked up the printing memory.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Faxs received are blank. Copies are printing

Can't happen. Someone is faxing papers upside down to you.

Copying and receiving faxes uses the same exact printing process.

Display says "printing online" but it is not connected to a PC

unplug machine, press and hold down the "stop/exit" key while pluggung back in. continue to hold the button down for 5 secs, then release. if machine returns to the regular date/time display, you should be alright. if not, then you'll have to call brother or an authorized service center. this is usually caused by a fax stuck in memory, which this procedure should clear.

good luck,

Brother HL-5240 printer problem

This usually means a print job is stuck in the queue that was set to "manual feed" or to a different paper size, such as legal. Add paper to the front manual feed and press "Go". If this is the problem, the stuck document will begin printing from the manual tray.

To clear the problem without printing from the manual feed, cancel all jobs on the printer, delete any jobs out of the Windows print queue and restart the computer.

when this happens, unplug machine, hold down the "stop/exit" key while plugging machine in. continue holding the stop/exit key for 5 seconds. display should return to the regular date and time screen. if it doesn't, contact brother customer support. this problem is caused by a fax stuck in memory.
