I have an year old estate electric dryer and I went to press the start button and nothing happened, do you know if there's anything else that I could do before calling a repair tech?

I have the same problem. Does it tick like the timer is running? Mine does and I even feel heat, but it won't start. Any suggestions?

Hi thanks for the question i looked it up and the most likely cause for this problem is the thermal fuse located at the back of the dryer remove back panel and on the air duct you will see a small plastic piece with 2 small blue wires going to it replace this part but also clean all venting to the outside as this will cause this to happen the appliance doc

It is the fuse. I have had this washer for about 1year and a half and every other month for the last 6 months I have needed to replace the fuse. I guess it's time to get a new dryer with better quality!

Same problem here. My dad is good at fixing appliances and looked at it, he took it apart and did some troubleshooting, turns out there's power going all the way to the motor but the motor doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas? Are there any fuses or circuit breakers that might have tripped causing the motor to shut down? New motor is about $100, so don't really want to spend the money until I know that's the problem.

I press the start button, the light goes on but nothing happens

I had the same problem. It is the door latch. It cost about $150 to fix. I can't believe the tech didn't know it. It is very common for Bosch Dryers after about 3-4 years old.

Dryer wont start - no lights

Dryer door does not think it is closed. There is a sensor on the top of the door that is probably not making contact with the door. Trying pushing the top part of the door and holding it then press the start button.. if the unit starts running then you know what it is. I just had one of these dryers delivered today and had to find out about this by myself tonight!!

move the dial to the "off" position first; wait for beep; then move to the drying setting you want, and wait for another beep.

try turning the drum by hand...is it jammed? if not, then: the motor will not turn due to a number of reasons: 1.) simply burned out copper windings 2.) switch not turning on motor or not turning on motor starting circuit-depending on design ...if jammed, then try to find the interference to turning
