- I had the same problem about a year ago, but solved it by shortcutting the power Switch-pins on the keyboard with a little skrewdriver.
I read that somewhere, tried it and it worked.
Now I've unplugged all drives, the mouse and the keyboard.Connected are all cards, 3gb memory and the EZ-plug( 12V for the CPU).
Have a cheap USB-mouse with a converter-plug to a normal mouse-connection.That mouse has a bright blue LED, and when connected, it still shines bright.
Also the green LEd on the mobo is on, indicating there is a current on the mobo.
Thanks for any advise.....

- I took out the memory, disconnected the IDE-cables, took out the PSU and connected it to an old motherboard I had laying around and an old hard-disk , short-circuited te power-on switch - pins on that motherboard, and the fans started to spin, and the board started to boot.
So the power-supply is OK.
I put it back in, connected everything back again,short-circuited the power-on pins on the board and also there the fans started to spin.
So itwas back alive again.
Perhaps it had something to do with static electricity.
Thanks for help and good vibes !
A little more info if you dont mind ? is this a new motherboard installation ? have you put all the cards in the computer ? (if so remove as many as you can and start with only the basic cards needed to get a system running) Have you double checked ALL your connections to the board ? Do youhave accesss to a power supple tester (these are cheap devices tha can check quite a few things and tell you at a glance if there is a problem)

When I switch on my dell 1535 Studio laptop with the power button and then either move the hinged screen or the laptop, there is a noise which sounds like the laptop is switching off. The screen freezes and I have to re-boot the laptop. Could there be a faulty connection between the power button and the motherboard? if so can I fix it myself???
