My wireless router wont work

You need to (temporarily) hook a computer up to your router using an ethernet cable to set it up properly so you can send out a wireless internet signal with it. To connect to your router with a computer simply open your web browser and type in the router's address in URL web address bar. Consult your router's documentation to determine the exact address for your model. Note that you do not need a working Internet connection for this step.

I want to hook up netflix to my computer ,thru a wireless router. My computer is running of a land line .Do I need a two way spliter to run my Ethernet cable to both the computer and router,to run properly?...

Does your computer have a Wireless Adapter? This would allow you to pick up wireless transmissions from your wireless router.

If you don't have a Wireless Adapter, you'll need to buy one, or, you can connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable and then connect your Router to the socket in the wall.

Either way, as long as you have internet access on your computer, you will be able to hook up Netflix.

Most new routers now a days need to be connected to with a network cable first, login to the router console and setup the wireless and wireless security before they will operate. you will want to login to your routers web interface. looks like this screen and work with the wireless menud5d6fb6.png

Router connection problems

i assume that you are using 2 hardwired computers. if so, make sure that the cables are connected to the correct ports. the modem should be connected to the wan/internet port of the router and the 2 computers should be connected to the ethernet ports. try to do a power cycle by turning off the all the devices then turn on your modem first, then the router, lastly the computers. if you're getting the same problem, make sure that the router is properly configured according to the settings of your ISP. for example, if your ISP is dsl, you need to set you router to pppoe but if it's cable, you need to clone the mac address of the computer (the one that can access the internet directly to the modem) to the router.

if you're using wireless computers, you need to check if you are using the correct wireless settings to your computer. log in to your router's page to check the wireless settings.

hope this'll help you
