Check for latest device drivers, if you don't work, replace the soundcard.

Dell studio xps no sound will come out of the speakers

I assume you mean the internal speakers.

First thing I would try is hooking up a set of headphones. If you can hear sounds thru the headphones then there could be an issue with the headphone jack. (the jack acts like a switch, switching OFF the speakers when you have a plug inside, and switching them back ON when you remove the plug).

If you dont hear sounds thru the headset or speakers, check your device manager, and remove/reinstall your audio driver. You can download the driver at the dell website Support.Dell.com.

When i record on the camara there is no volume

the thing that you experienced is just normal dont worry about that., It is because the camera has no speaker On it but it has a microphone for you to able record the sounds., For you to hear the sounds of your video you need to download it on your computer and play the video using the computer., Most of the later version of C-series camera has no speaker On It., GudluCK!

Sound problem

You need to install the drivers for your sound card as when you format a drive you wipe it clean.
Identify your sound card, and download from there site.

External harddrive

Sounds like a dead hard drive if 2 pc's won't recognize it.

Does it show up in device manager?
(Rightclick my computer click properties->hardware->device manager->disk drives...or click other devices instead of disk drives .)

Check for it in control panel->administrative tools->computer managerment->disk management too.
If it's not showing up get a replacement (assuming its under warranty).

The static is probably coming from the computer sound card itself. Turn the volume down on the computer mixer it should limit the static you are hearing.
