You could try uploading them with a different program. Also on the camera monitor make sure the transfer symbol (squggly line with arrows on bot ends) is on each picture.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

You should have a cable that came with the camera that plugs into the camera and the other end plugs into a usb port on your computer.I would download Picasa3 software from Google to store your pictures as it is a brilliant piece of kit. ted10

The camera doesn't care what kind of computer you have. It will take pictures just fine, with or without a computer.
It's when you want to do something with the pictures that you need a computer.

Since you didn't specify the computer or its operating system, I'm afraid I can't suggest any programs.
