Question about Samsung RB215LASH

Motor clicks on for a second then clicks off

I have noticed throughout the past two days that the motor comes on for a split second then turns off. Eventually it comes on and stays on for the normal length of time ( a few minutes ) The temperature reading on the control panel reads 84 degrees. Clearly, the frig is not that warm. In fact, the frig seems to be a normal temp. Another problem I have is how to clean the coils. I move the frig occasionally and clean the floor under it, but I cannot access anything in the frig itself - such as the coils, to clean. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: motor clicks on for a second then clicks off

Sound like a bad thermostat, otherwise it is a sick puppy. I clean mine with compressed air, or a shop vacuum on 'blow'

Evap fan stops turning

It sounds like the sensor circuit in the motor is out or the motor is binding slightly so that the motherboard can't tell what the fan rpm is. Replace the motor and you should be ok. This is a common failure I have run in to.

We had a new oven put in 2 days ago, and the installer turned off the circuit breakers. Ever since he turned it back on my side by side has been making a clicking noise (like a relay). Then it will hum...

Remove the bottom front panel of the fridge and locate the defrost timer. This is a small circular motor with a screw slot in the center. Turn the slot CLOCKWISE ONLY and listen for a click. As soon as you hear the click stop, wait about five minutes and feel the walls of the freezer they should now be cold.If this happens again the timer will need to be replaced. Thank you, Dana

Amana AFD2535DEW freezer/refrigerator with intermittent tempurature swings

I had the same issue. It was the relay overload which essentially provides the extra boost to get the compressor going. The switch tries for about 10 seconds before giving up and then retries 3 - 4 minutes later. In the early stages of failure, eventually it will work and the compressor will kick on. But eventually the switch will fail and will just cycle through the 10 second attempt every 3 to 4 minutes. The part is about $35 - part number 67005560.

Electrical noise

If the noise from the compressor sounds like a humming followed by a click, the compressor is "short cycling". Could be either the compressor relay or the compressor itself is bad. Not sure on the hissing noise. Could be just a loose panel that needs to be tightened or adjusted.
