The Cheapest way to resolve your issue is to go to Fry's Electronics or a Computer Part Store like Staples and get a PCI IDE controller to plug into a PCI slot. This is cheaper than a new replacement motherboard in all cases. The IDE controller is built into the motherboard, so there is no small replacement part that can be ordered for this problem. I tried to connect an internal card reader to my PC. Un plugged the 9pin connector to the USB sockets on the front of the machine and connected the reader. Boot very slow and now none of the USB ports on the rear of the machine work. Is this the correct socket to use, or should I have a different one? Regards Robby
