I am having the same problem with my KX-TGA234W. One day the screen just went blank, so I changed the battery, but it still is blank. I hope that someone can help both of us.
I had this same problem, there is a thin line of wires connecting the bottom half and top half of the sliders, after awhile it just plain wears out and will generally crack, without these wire anything on the front of your phone will no longer work. The screen is black but stil lights up a little bit and occasionally the buttons light up but its pretty much toast I'm sorry to say. I upgraded to a HTC Touch Pro 2 and am happier than ever!
Ok, my phone had the same problem. I took the face plate off and the screen out and there's actually a little connector that connects to a board behind the screen(can come unplugged for replacement). I fiddled around a little with it and it worked fine. about a week or 2 later it happened again. I tried fixing it again and it would just flash white>black>lines>white, repeat. I know my phone's taken a bit of abuse, dropped down a road, soaked in rain, but it always worked after. These phone screens aren't meant to take abuse. Problem; the phone screen died. Solution; get a new screen.
I have a similar issue...left side hinge pin came out...found it in my pocket and attempted to put it in place and then the screen went blank...no luck...but I was able to take the motorola phone toola and retrieve the data, names, etc and move to another motorrola phone I have. A few days later I found a small wire clip thing that must ground or contact something in the hinge...no luck yet fixing it. Help
first thing you should have done is remove the battery immediately. The battery with water will fry the phone. The phone needs to dry out. I have heard several people have good luck by putting the phone in a bag of rice for 3 days. Rice will remove the moisture. Give it a try and good luck!
I have exactly the same problem with my W880i. Suddenly, one day, out of the blue it went half and half, the right side completely blank(yet still with the back light on - I think - ). And a few months later (now). It suddenly randomly went completely blank - back light definitely on -. It happened today, and I am desperately searching for a solution. If I take the battery out, put it back in, turn it on, I can feel the vibrate, and notice a slight change in colour on the screen. But it stays completely blank, and hasn't changed in hours. So ANY help would be appreciated.
