First I noticed the sound wasn't as good as before, and now I notice that with every headset or speakers I plug into the computer, only the right one work, while the left one is silent.
    I have a HP Compaq 6715b

Had these speakers for a while. Great Sound, Bass, Ect. Left speaker stopped working. Checked plugs, inputs, outputs, balance. Plugged in headphones, both sides working... Possible bad speaker.

Left speaker stopped working the day of purchase, fixed itself about a week later, broke for another 2 days, worked again for 6 months, just now stopped working again...I opened up the speaker, see no bad connections...when placing the actual speaker to my ear, I can faintly hear from it.

Good day Nessasman
TIme to get back to warranty,
it is a bad inside speaker, or may be the balance of the speakers is at the other side , try in control panel, and multimedia settings first.
Good Luck

No sound from speakers

insert the ear/head phone in backpanel sound pin (Green color),

1.if You can hear the sound in ear/Head phone, then the problem is in the speaker.replace the speakers

2.if You can't hear the sound in ear/Head phone, then the problem is in your system audio driver. So Down load the audio driver which is suitable for your system and install it.

Bose Companion 2 Speakers won't work with Sony Vio Laptop

You don't write which operating system you use, but generally you should be able to choose where the sound output goes in the Sound Properties in Control Panel.
If however Sony decided to put some special software that does the thinking for you, and directs the sound output via the HDMI when connected, then you have to dig deeper...

Only one speaker working - acer computer speakers

1 step: kindly check the connection of the left speaker if it is plugged to the right speaker properly.
2 step: Then check the balance under volume control if it has been set in the middle.
3 step: If possible check the speaker on some other device(cd player etc) other than your pc and see if the left speaker still doesn't have any sound.
if so kindly replace them

Logitech Z-5500

Well you have some options, you can either live with 2 speakers and change the settings back to default. Im assuming the colors you have are orange black and green. black= the surround sound speakers. orange= center and subwoofer. green=right left front

Now if u want true surround sound then you need to buy a new card that had all the ports for your speakers.

Acer computer

It sure sounds like to me that your sound properties got messed up some how, Go into your control panel and look up your sound card or sounds. Now once in you settings, You can set them the way you want to hear it, Or you can use the default setting, That would set it back to original factory settings and back to normal, It just sounds like someone changed the settings by accident, That should get your speakers back to normal, You will also notice that there a many settings in your audio properties that can change the way the system sounds thru the speakers. If that don't help the problem let me know we will get it right if you can 't get it.... thanks bear001

Connect BX8A speaker to PC

Hello waddragon,

First, let's start with the BX8a. Those are powered speakers (built-in amplifier in each) so, you do not need a pre-amp. What you need to connect them to your computer is a 3.5mm to XLR cable OR a 3.5mm to 1/4" TRS cable, also known as 3.5mm to two 1/4" mono plugs (the back of the BX8a has inputs that accept either type). Cables are available at most any electronics stores. Make sure you buy a long enough cable to run from the back of the computer to where the speakers will be.
It sounds that you only have one BX8a which means you'll be listening to only one channel of the stereo output. In any case, make sure before connecting the speaker(s) to the computer that speaker power is off and volume control is at minimum. Connect the 3.5mm cable end to Line Out 1 jack of the X-Fi sound card and either the XLT or TRS ends to the speaker(s) input(s). Play some audio content on your computer, turn on speaker(s) and slowly increase volume to a safe level. Everything should work fine.
Let me know how it goes.

No sound

Happy holidays to you all
well, I have known that ACERS computers, have problems with boards (onboard sound) many on laptops, I suggest if you guys have warranty yet, uset, and change for another . option 1, ...option 2, if your PC, have slot for an audio card, buy a new one, and solve the issue, if you got a laptop, buy a PCMCIA from any computer store, brands from Creative labs, in usb or pcmcia , may solve this.

Speaker doesnt give sound

Based on the fact that you have put a headset in and another speaker system and it is working properly there is nothing wrong with your windows settings. I would leave them alone. The issue appears to be with the hardware. Have you attempted to plug the speakers into another source (ie. cd player, ipod, etc)? If you plug them in there and they don't work, take the speakers back and have them exchanged. If they're not under warranty you're going to have to either get them fixed or replace them. Good luck on this one! JC
