My Lexmark X73 made a snapping noise and stopped

My Lexmark X73 made a loud snapping noise and stopped feeding paper. The ''print'' functions seems okay, but all print is compressed at the top of the page because of paper not feeding. Is it fixable--and worth the expense of repair?

My printer did the same thing, after tearing into it, I found one of the plastic gears had broke in two.

Testimonial: "Thank you--that makes sense, but could you fix it? Or are parts like that not available?"

Printed copy will not feed out line by line and finally will not feed the printed page. How to get it to work properly?

There could be something blocking the paper path that's not allowing the paper to not go all the way through the feeder. Try to open the printer and access the cartridge area. Remove the cartridges. Check for any foreign objects blocking the paper path. Rebrick your printer by removing the power adapter (black box found on the back of your printer where the power cord is plugged in) and then re-plug after 30 seconds. When your printer turns back on, re-insert your cartridges. Then try print your document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Feed system Problem Lexmark x73

More possible for printer not feeding is paper jump, and stock up jump sensor, look hook type near roller sensor mechanism if still free in move, or if dirt, then try to feed paper manually and look for any obstruction.

My computer says that my printer is offline.

Please follow the steps given below to perform a self test on the printer:

1. Switch off the printer.
2. Press and hold down the paper feed button.
3. While keeping the paper feed button depressed, turn the power back on.
4. When the printer starts to print, release the paper feed button.
5. When the first page is printed, switch off the power (otherwise the printer will keep on printing).

Problem w/printing

Try this first:

Turn off the printer and unplug it. Open the paper jam door and give the paper roller a gentle push forward until it clicks. This is a simple reset of the paper feed. Close the door, plug your printer back in and turn it on.
I hope this works for you. If it does not we may need to reinstall the driver. Please let me know. Thanks!

Lexmark X73 just stopped working totally

I was printing a homework assignment from my professor, I received an error message that something may be invalid with what he sent. I tried to print and everthing just jammed, the cartridges are stuck to the right and noting will move. I have turned it on and off and even unplugged it from the Computer, but when restarted nothing still happens there is still no communication with my omputer. Is it shot or can still use it? Thanks Rebbec

Mine makes a noise when turning it off and on and then the light just blinks. The paper does not feed at all. Nothing works! And I've never really had a problem since getting it many many years ago...

Lexmark X73 print/paper problem

Same problem here. Went thru a few tests with Lexmark but didnt help. They next said it would be best to get new one since repair cost would be higher. Thru front door I do see a spring that moves freely. That must be broke. After their help they sent email for 20% off.
