Question about RCA P61930BL 61" Rear Projection Television

Automatically Switches Channel

After the TV is turned on it will start switching channels on it's own. We have to turn it off to get it to stop and then it won't come back on.

Sound goes off after 15 Min

Assuming it is not hardware but soft settings...
1) Check and make sure that your TV does not have the timer set.
The Timer feature allows you to set a day and time for the TV to turn on automatically and the device and channel to display when it switches on. If the TV is already on at the requested time, the TV automatically tunes to the channel you designated in the Timer menu.
When the Timer turns on the TV, the following message is displayed: "Press a button for the TV to stay on." Press any button on the remote control within five minutes if you wish the TV to remain on.
Note: The TV clock must be set before you can use the
Timer feature (see preceding page to set the clock).
Press down arrow / up arrow to enable or disable the Timer.
2) If not working, try SYSTEM RESET. Press SYSTEM RESET button on the front panel with pointed object (e.g. straight paperclip). TV turns off, green LED flashes for about 1 minute. When it stops flashing turn the TV on again. All settings other than Parental Lock need to be set again using the manual.
3) TV RESET. If all else fails for soft error. Your manual describes this last resort for soft type error. It could be hardware problem needing more expertise.

TV is onstandby all the time, it does not start

Well the discussion on here is about the light going on and some people here find it annoying that the machine is on when they thought it was off. Now maybe you want to re-read the original post.

Then some claim that the TV switches them from their favorite show to the atv because of this sudden unexpected atv switch-on. The fact is that it does not emit video over the HDMI when the light goes on. What happens is that if you turn your TV on and the device you want to use is already on, the tv will recognize the HDMI input and automatically switch to that channel. That happens when you switch the TV on. But it does not happen while you are watching TV.

Like a previews post stated, the atv uses the same software as iPhone & iPad. All these devices send packets over the network while they're in sleep mode. So if your peripheral device doesn't work with these products, either sort out the peripheral's functionality or stop using the atv. All future smart phones & tablets will remain on while in standby and so do current DVRs.

P52937sg will not stay on one channel

It is a older RCA---confirm model number and year set made if possible---also some of these had a simple problem where channel number would change but channel would not---let me know if here is your problem--if it is this the set has the Guide Plus Logo on the front of the cabinet.

Buttons not working right on tv

Yeah you were mislead. Those switches are known trouble makers. You can just leave the switches disconnected and the set will operate just fine with the remote with no problems. If you want to fix the control panel, just replace all the switches on it. They are cheap. The Mitsubishi part number for the switches is 432P089010

We purchased an LCD TV very recently (2 days ago) and when we turned it on it automatically stored the channels in our area. However, after our initial excitment of the picture quality etc we discovered...

Manually type in channel 9 and then hit <enter> so the TV switches to that channel. Then go to the "setup" screen and navigate around until you find the "channel setup" section. There you will find an option to memorize channels, including the channel you are on.

I have a RCA Tv i bought several years ago and up until now it worked great. But it turns itself on and off and switchs through the channels on CATV before shutting down.

the push button switches are bad. you need to have the switches replaced to fix this common problem. the switches get corrosion and start making contact themselves with out being pushed by you causing all kinds of problems.. Your power and channel up and down switches are obviously the ones going bad first.

replace the keyboard or remove the switches for channel up/down to see which one is bad. if neither does it, there are some components around the microprocessor that can cause this.

Rca model P46920BL

This could be a remote problem, try it while the remote it out of range/no batts if so just replace the remote. Pull the batteries out of the remote - fixed? Then: Check the switches, sometimes people clean the set and fluid drips down corrodes the hidden switches and some components near them. If not that check continuity of the switches Another thought, is if you have compact floresent lamps in the room, these can cause some IR interference that can trigger events on your remote control input. last, does anyone near you has the RCA TV? mybe other remote is effecting your TV...
