Hi,
I've just brought my canon canoscan lide 25, Im trying to scan but its constantly saying "realease the lock switch, detatch the IF cable and reconnect scanner will be closed" and then immediatly afterward "Unable to open TWAIN source, Please check connection then re-start toolbox"
is there any solution to this?
ASAP please

Mine was doing the same thing. When I get on the program, before I click "acquire" to preview and scan, I click OFF the toolbox and then everything seems to be okay and I can go ahead and scan.

Can I ask how to get to this option 'aquire' I cant find it on mine?

On my school we now have 7 scanners with the same problem. However, these are Lide 50 and 60, so it seems that Canon have a serious problem.
Lock Switch and IF cable problem, and notify you when a new solution is offered.
