Question about HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer

Quality of printing

In the past week, our printer has started printing a black line on the left side of the paper (the length of the whole paper). It also folds the top right corner of the page every once in a while. Please help!!

For the black line check the toner cartridge roller (usually covered by a movable flap) to see if there is a black line on it. If not, then check the transfer belt (looks similar to a conveyor belt) for a line (probably not black in color, possibly white or grayish). If either of these parts have a line your best option is to replace that part. You could try cleaning VERY gently with a dry lint-free cloth but this may only clear up a little of the issue.

As for the fold, try running a paper path test, usually found under test, information, or diagnostic menu option on the printer itself. Try to find anything in the paper path that may catch the paper and cause it to fold.

My printer has started printing a black line down the edge of the paper?

Remove the laser print cartridge, shake it lightly, and place it back into your printer. That should solve the problem.

I have black smudgy lines going down the left hand side of my printed copies. What do I do?

1. Check the toner level, when it's low the quality of the prints becomes poor.
2. If toner level is good, clean out the printer inside. The best way is to buy an air compressed can, get the printer in an open space and blow any toner from the inside of the printer. Give it a good clean as there might be residual toner inside that make the poor quality.

My Brother HL1230 printer prints with whole lines of text missing several times on a page and gets worse by missing more lines if printing several pages. It has a new toner cartridge. How can I sort this...

I have a brother MFC 3240C. My Black ink stopped printing(initially printed horizontal faded lines and gradually got worse), the other colors were printing fine. I tried cleaning numerous time( 50 -100 times over 1-2 weeks ). Still no improvement. The way I print now is:
1. I go to Printer Properties
2. Change Media type from "Plain Paper" to "Inkjet Paper".
3. Change Quality to "Photo".

This takes a long time to print 1-2 minutes per page. However, this works for me since this is my Home printer and use it for printing only few pages here are there.

Clean the nozzles, align the print heads, turn it off for about an hour. You may need to do this twice, but it works for me.

Black line on left side of paper

inside the printer on the paper pulling roller there will be some powder got collected on it due to this a black line appears on the paper.the power faLLS FROM THE TONER WHEN THE WASTE POWDER COLLECTING SECTION IN THE TONER GETS FULL SO IT FALLS on the roller while printing and this happens.take a air blower .bolw in to all the parts of the printer.keep the printer off .remove the toner cartridge.and keep the toner assessing door opened.and then blow the air in the printer.and then check out.

Resolving white, light lines or streaks (eliminate light stripes)

From the printer, print the Troubleshooting Print Quality Pages.
With Troubleshooting highlighted, press the OK button.
Scroll to Print Quality Problems by pressing the Up or Down Arrow button. Press OK.

Scroll to Troubleshooting Print Quality Page. Press OK.
Evaluate the Light Stripes Test page for missing printhead jets (missing cyan, magenta, yellow or black color bars).

Clean the maintenance unit's wiper blade and empty the waste tray. A dirty maintenance drawer wiper blade can cause white lines and weak or missing printhead jets. Using a clean lint-free cloth or a paper coffee filter, gently clean the blade with a wiping motion across the entire length of the wiper blade.

check the fixing unit if the adjustment for envelop is activated or not the same. set to normal.

Here's the link for how to clean the unit... I was going to post the instructions here, but there are pictures that might be helpful to you.

Before doing anything more drastic, I would try this.. let us know how it turns out.. if it doesn't work, we'll go from there.

Konica Minolta Magicolor 2430DL--black line on right side of paper

Sry but you have to change drum cartridge, the line is caused form drums cleaning system, and it cant be repaired.
