Question about Linksys PrintServer for USB with 4 port Switch: PSUS4 (NTSVLS0PSUS4) Print Server

PSUS4 problem "talking" to Canon S330

My PSUS4 worked flawlessly with my Canon S330 up until recently. Now my print jobs never make it to the printer. If I connect my printer directly to any computer, it responds. When connected to my PSUS4 I am unable to print.

I've gone through the mandatory 30-60 second reset test with no luck.

I've tried running a "test" print from the admin interface with no luck either.

I do not get any error messages or any indication of failure.

Re: PSUS4 problem "talking" to Canon S330

Hi dreaddymck
I need a little more information on the setup. Is there a router in your network? If there is, is your PrintServer connected to the router and your computer is attempting to connect to the printserver through the router? If there is no router and your PrintServer is connected to your printer via the USB port and your computer is connected to one of the ports on the PrintServer via a cat5 cable, I would check to see whether you are actually communicating with the PrinterServer by pinging its IP address from the computer. If the ping is successful, then I would look at the printer properties in your computer's printer control panel and check the port configuration. Usually it is shows the IP address, port 9100 and port protocol is usually set to RAW. Otherwise I would attempt to reinstall the PrintServer using the CD originally provided. It appears to me that the server may not be publishing its IP address on your network.

Computer not recognizing print server

If you connect your printer directly to your computer, were you able to print? Make sure that there is no firewall enabled in your computer (Double check windows firewall or any personal firewall, that could have been enabled).

Network printing

I am afraid, PSUS4 is an older model of print server , which supports only ordinary printers. All in ones are not supported by PSUS4. Linksys have other print server which works with all in one printers. The model number is WPSM54G. Probably you can try that. Also, if the PSUS4 is less than one month old, you can get it replaced with the WPSM54G from the stores itself . The WPSM54G can be used as wired as well as wireless to the router. If you want to use the PSUS4, you may need an ordinary printer like Office jet or laser jet with USB 1.1 version.- Thank you

610N dissapeared no lights, empty EIO, reset no help

If you're seeing it intermittently, try the following:

-remove it completely
-power cycle the printer with it out
-check your contacts (be sure no bent pins, etc)
-Try it in a different slot if you have one (most HP's with an internal jetdirect have 2-3 EIO slots, but since you don't mention what model printer you have I don't know for sure).

If it's not talking after all that, likely the jetdirect is actually dead. It's been known to happen. I wouldn't waste the money on a replacement, you'll have better luck getting an external card and it'll be cheaper, too.

HP sells both the JetDirect 170X and 175X externals; there's also the Linksys PSUS4, D-Link DP-300U, TrendNet TE100-P1P, or Netgear PS101NA. Price will vary between $45-80.
