Question about HP PSC 1510 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Hi, can anyone help with this problem!?
I have recently upgraded to windows vista 32bit and my not very old Hp psc 1510 all in one printer will not install properly.
I have been to Hp's website and downloaded both downloads available and tried them, but no luck. When I try installing the software it gets to step 3 of 4 and it says "now connect usb cable, so i do into the back of the printer and it fails to complete the step. (And i know the cable is fine because every time i switch the printer on it recognises i have a 1510 printer to i nstall!)
I have phoned HP 3 times and got no where with them. Quite frankley there like my arse. excuse my french!
I've been thinking its a security problem from reading similar problems and I've tried disabling McAfee security center and no look there either!
so can anyone help!? please!
Kingchick, you'll kick yerself when you find out how easy this is! Chances are, your driver software failed when you tried to install it but if it went through uninstall it. Shutdown your computer and printer and unplug the usb cord from the printer at the computer end. Power up your computer and printer, then plug in the usb. Drivers download automatically. If that doesn't work then follow the same procedure but don't turn on the printer until after you hook up the usb. Its been months since I did this and couldn't remember the order. 50/50 shot but one way does work! Good luck!

Xax! as it seems u have tested a lot of thinks! :)
well, listen first of all if u have the cd of the VISTA instaligation pack u shoulld install it from there,
after that, u can tru to unplug the usb cable from ur computer so it has no conection att all, and when it says to plug ur printer, plug first into the printer and THEN into ur pc...(this is quite critical)
more over, do not be mad with the setup soft cause as it seems its not the best :S
e.g. ive instaled it 4 time to my pc cause i got an error in every step!!!
