Screen blanks sporadically

Good has become sporadic with the display. Relaced circuit board and backlight, to no effect. Is this a motherboard issue or do you know?

Your information is both accurate and unwelcome. I just replaced the screen and the problem persists, which means I was sold a bad screen by an unscrupulous jerk. I already know the bit about plugging in to an external monitor, that is how I determined the initial screen replacement. I was hoping against hope that there was some other detail I had overlooked . . . but I already did the circuit board(not the motherboard). ok?

This could be a video issue or a screen issue. To determine which one try to plug it up to an external monitor. If it does not black out on the monitor then it is the screen. If it blacks out on the monitor then it is the video component of the motherboard. In that case you would most like replace the motherboard.

Hope this helps!

Sanyo DP46142 TV comes on for approximately 30 seconds and then screen goes black. Power LED stays on.

Sounds like a backlight problem to me. If you input a signal to the HDMI or Composite input and then it goes black have you tried taking a flashlight to the screen to see if the picture is still there but just dark? That would indicate a backlight issue. That model appears to be an LED edge lit backlight, so if the picture is still there after going black your going to have to trace out the backlight circuit and see whats going on. Usually with LED backlighting if it comes on at all then the LED's are good, its just the driver supply thats failing to keep them on. Some TV's have a small separate board that provides the backlight control, but i suspect with this model its on the power supply board and not the motherboard. Have you checked that board? It could be bad caps on the power supply board, check the voltages to the backlighting when it lights up and then when it goes dark. It could just be some failed capacitors on the power supply causing that voltage rail to drop off.

Backlight is out. Why is picture still displayed on screen?

Backlight inverter section circuit is faulty. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should trouble shoot. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions.
Type in the brand name of your device, in the search box [at the top right] of the display window and the Search will start at once as you type in, and will show you all the related posts. It will make surf easy.

The control display on my microwave is very dim. Is there any way to make it brighter?

If you had mentioned your full model number, we could have looked whether the VFD is available as a separate part in case your model has a VFD display, or whether the whole control board would have to be replaced.

If your model has an LCD type display, it may be weak LEDs or other failing components in the display backlight circuit.

We regularly repair microwave displays for $39.95 nationwide.

It's pretty rare for a microwave to have a display brightness feature.

Let us know if we can help you further.

Backlight not working...........when I first boot up the pc the display will flas on for a second

Hello.

Test with an external monitor and if it works, works, it is the display's backlight or inverter board.
If you were experiencing discoloration in the screen (pinkish lower light hues) before it failed, that would indicate a CCFL backlight issue. If the screen suddenly went dim rather than a slow degradation, the inverter would be indicated.

In either case, a technician in your area should be able to help. Evaluate to see if the repair is cost-effective.

Hope this helps.

I have a LP156WH2 LG display from an acer notebook and i can see the image but the led backlight does not turn on, it had a led open i replaced it for an identical one and still is not turning on, i live...

Check the supply voltage to the backlight LED's. If it's too high and thus causing the LED's to go open a new panel will just become junk when powered on, and you may have damaged the replacement panel you already tried. To check the voltage just measure it at the cable end you connect to the panel. If no voltage bad motherboard. If too high still a motherboard issue, but you might be able to regulate it with a simple solid state voltage regulator.

I install a new motherboard for a dell studio 1735, the laptop start but in a minute after starting the laptop is off

New motherboards replaced on computers starts with several observations as regular anticipations. First the computer has to get adjusted to the new circuit arrangements. Assume that the new motherboard had all the component structures least required to malfunction. Once installed, the power circuits have to get adjusted depending on the type of components that have been installed on the new board. For example, the computer requires searching to ascertain the new means to achieving user expectation soon after configuration onto new board of circuits. The processes of the computers reconfigurations includes search every components parts comprise the new mother board. A start at power on performs basic input output devices inspections of the interior components of sound, video, storage, heating, clocks, cables, programs, and finally the external connected ports. Once the computer ascertains that the new system has the requisite details to perform desirable, it is usual to shut down automatically to restart to achieve the users expected installations. Also, the basic input output search may have discovered errors during the process and was incapable of power shutting immediately but provides the extensive nature to attaining an entire diagnosis until displaying momentarily before power shutting completely. Once the computer was able to search the entire new circuits to arrive at users momentary interface display is indication that every component is appropriate only least has the extensive capacity to display extensively. Computer automatic shut down has three possible explanations. First, the program system also known as operating system is incompatible on the computer. Usually the new mother board contains remnants of the operating system of the computer from which was extracted. Since the motherboard least contains a hard storage drive that has the operating system programs, installing a new motherboard on an old computer still with hard storage drive continues to have old programs requesting to communicate with a new circuit board. Usually, two separate operating systems are least compatible to each other where the motherboard would have for example windows 2000 installed on a windows 98 computer still with remnant hard disk drivers may attempt to power on by searching to ascertain every components, display momentarily the possible conditions to attain power shut down due to incompatibilities. Second, usually computers have component devices that operate differently. For example, similar computer may have dissimilar capacities of graphic cards where smaller computers graphic card were extracted together with the motherboard to be installed on a larger computer may not provide enough graphics capacity to display every details. Usually, the graphic card contributes to wards color resolution appearances on the computer. Compatible changes of motherboards only shy of graphics would display picture quality least achieving user visual effects. Usually advisable to change from new versions to older versions to attain update effects rather than change from older versions to new versions computer that would hardly display at power on. Third, the components that are changeable on the computers motherboard to least cause dilemmas includes entities like storage drives that may require reinstalling the operating systems as new ones are empty in content. Also, video cards, graphic cards, sound cards, expansion devices are those that add to feature improvements on the computer to attain experience. Once changing improvement devices within the motherboard, it is advisable to acquire the recent compatible to the entire computers brand model features to attain an improved experience also known as system updates or upgrades. At which point the computer should have provided in the momentary display a diagnosis observation from where adjustments to become functional is achievable. First attempting to maintain the entire motherboard changes by fixing the issues that are causing malfunctions is achievable. A hard disk drive may require erasure to capture a new system that is compatible with the entire computers components. Usually, hard storage drives are capable of causing to become volatile to allow for new operating systems software to be installed taking effect. In the situation of being unable to erase a preexisting disk, acquiring a new disk is plausible. New disk storage allows installing a new system of choice however require the entire software program. Once acquiring new disk with new software programs the computer mother board takes new effects altogether. Ascertain the functionalities of the prior existing components of the computer are necessary to acquire new disk storage and installation program software. Usually acquire a disks with vast entities to spaces to capture several new programs of operating systems, new user productivity software's and extra spaces for improvemts conditions as the computer exists. While at retail, ascertain to acquire each component parts with intent to building a whole device. The means of last resort is ascertaining the entire resources required to restore the old computer in costs to component parts, retails resources gathering if any available, inconvenience to make possible building another computer, costs of installations, technical guarantees to restore another device least recognizes as the manufacturers default. The ultimate means is discarding the old device as depleted of productivity to acquire new computer altogether. Computer resource components usually are generational where attempting to a build an old device with new parts makes the whole process redundant. The computer manufacture is most achievable entity to resort.

Screen blacks out while rest is still on, is a dv7-1285dx

This is a backlight issue. Either the HV/backlight board is going bad or the wires that go to it through the hinge is broken/making poor connection.
Rock the screen back and fourth. if it goes on and off, then it is the wires. If not then probabbly the board.
If it is the wires, then you will have to order the screen (off ebay) with the cable (unless you can order just the cable) or you will have to order the backlight board.

The Inverter board must be tested and eventually replaced. The inverter is the small board located at the base of display. This is connected to one side to the backlight lamp, to which supplies AC high voltage, and on the other side to motherboard, where receives DC voltage.

Inverter contacts to otherboard and to lamp must be tested , using a multimeter to read volts. The inverter is an AC board, and for safety reason the test must be done by a trained repairer.
If the inverter is OK check the contacts to motherboard and wiring harness to motherboard..

Also ensure that light is not just dimmer because energy save mode is on, or because the laptop is running on batteries.
