If you are outside in a wide open area and can't detect any satellites, your Garmin C330 may have failed.

The instruction manual is available to download from Garmin's website, www.garmin.com. Click on the StreetPilot C330, then go to updates and downloads. You should find the manual there.

SOURCE: my garmin StreetPilot c330 can not acquire satellites. Pls Help

I have the same problem. After turing on and getting the "Locating Satellites" message I get "Are you indoors" and I answer no, the it asks "Are you currently in Ohio" or whatever State I am in at the time. I answer no (the wrong answer) and usually within a few minutes it acquires the satellites and navigates properly. I have been very dissapointed with this unit, as this is the 4th serious problem I have had, I also own a Tom-Tom and it is MUCH better!

The satellite chip ( SIIRF) is possible burned out
It starts always at the last place it was programmed or the default place of issue.
It may be quite expensive to fix as it requires a new motherboard. Not usually covered by warranty as they can be damaged by overcharging aqnd connecting to DC when starting engine.

The C330 does not have bluetooth capability. Regardless, this has nothing to do with the unit's ability to acquire satellites. Nor should the type of vehicle you purchased, unless the unit is unable to receive due to some feature, like something in the windshield, which is preventing the unit from receiving a proper signal. Does the unit work outside the vehicle?

Garmin C330

Make sure that at its location it can have access to see the satellites.

It is also possible that its front end receiver is starting to become weak in performance due to some failing parts.

Satellite loss

How long has it been since you updated the firmware on your unit? Try updating and see if this helps. Also, keep in mind the receiver on the C330 is not as sharp as on other units like the C550 and some of the Nuvis. You may have problems while under overpasses, between large trees or buildings, etc. This is just a design limitation of the unit.
